I started collecting Joes in 2011. I picked up many of the 25th and poc figures that I could remember from the 80s but never got Tomax and Xamot. Every time I see them on ebay, they are a little out of my range. So are they considered essential members of the cobra gang to have them in my collection?

In my collection the twins are an integral part of the Cobra hierarchy but that's just me.

I never bought them either, and I've picked up a lot of figures that I really shouldn't have. The twins were heavily featured in the comic and cartoon, so I'd rank them as A-listers. So yes, I would say they were essential in that regard, but I was never blown away by their 25th versions. I've been hoping they'd get an eventual update to fit in better with guys like Ultimate Cobra Commander, Ultimate Storm Shadow, Retaliation Firefly and the soon to be released 50th Anniversary Destro.

I think they're essential to any collection.

They tied for the 17th greatest G.I. Joe characters in a recent Hisstank poll. So, yeah, they're pretty essential. Somehow, I don't feel like they're missing from my Sideshow collection. But at the 3.75" scale, they're a necessity.
There's no denying though that they have a flamboyant design which goes a little further out than other 1985-era figures and leapfrogs at least into the 1986 era. Last edited by JediJones; 06-26-2014 at 06:03 PM.. |

I thought this was another thread about the FSS 3.0 Bombstrike.

Not in my opinion. I had them as a kid, but they're part of the mythos that doesn't really appeal to me. So they're not part of my Cobra collection.

Every major military of the universe has a covert wing of operations. The Twins run extensive enterprises and have an army of crimson guard, highly trained lawyers and other govt officials in your back yard conducting operations in civilian guises that would require either too many operatives or too long an operation time for Zartan to be a feasible agent.. They make huge money for the cobra organization covertly in ways cobra wouldn't be able to do without stealing it out right. I think they are pretty essential to cobra operations and thus are essential to ones collection...that is if your collection likes to retain a command and control structure theme running from top to bottom and left to right...

They are part of the Cobra like the Dreadnoks. They have a specific function and fall in the chain of command
