I love the slightly Sci-Fi look of Marauder's figures. I know that GI Joe is different for every collector but "slightly Sci-Fi" is GI Joe to me.

I recall him saying they hadn't decided yet...

I'd like to see some in the future without the shin guards, but I can live with them. Especially with the Guererro fig, as it's an update for the cobra shock trooper for me. I don't care for the desert trooper as much, so I don't care either way. The red troop is fine with the guards, IMO. The urban troop is good with the guards, but I have mixed feelings about the night ops. IF the legs can be changed out, that'd be an easy custom since it's black. I'm mixed on the Carmen troop as well, as I get the whole Colonial marines thing, but I also wanted more of a forest ops figure, and not sure shin guards go with that.

I guess I have the same taste as John, because I couldn't imagine a better first figure, design-wise. You've got the perfect mix of futuristic and contemporary and the perfect mix of hard armor texture with soft cloth texture. That makes them super-versatile and allows for almost unlimited repaint/recolor potential.

Yeah I don't like the shin guards either but I suspect the design might have kept the overall design costs down. Mediocre lower legs meant more money to design more cool hats.

I don't care how they're made. They're awesome.

I actually do like the look of them; I just wish we could either remove then for variety's sake, or at least switch out the lower leg parts down the road.

They are neat figures. I too wondered about the possibility of customizing the legs. Hopefully, they will have screws in the thighs and we can customize with Joe parts. Also, I would like to see more customizable parts added to MGR store later- like interchangeable legs, arms, etc. in pre-painted matching colors.

I like the overall figure but the shin guards are a turn-off for me. Like an earlier poster I like the traditional combat boot with bloused pants look. I've only used shin guards when I was a baseball catcher and when I was assigned to the tactical field force (crowd control) with my department. All that crap is hot and uncomfortable...
