Just got mine and Bombardier is all kinds of been and messed up. Gonna have to call the club. Keel-Haul is more or less perfect and that's the one I wanted to open and leave Bombardier carded. They need to get new boxes. These figures with more and more gear the bubbles are too big and don't fit in the boxes.

I have yet to see a single example where the shipping box was the issue. The problems are poor quality control at the factory, badly aligned or setup bubble presses, and people that don't give a shit shoving the figures in the box.
The boxes themselves stand up incredibly well to all kinds of abuse. But if you insert a damaged product at the factory the end result is the same. Quote:

Mine were waiting for me after walking dog on 18th at 530. Solid showing late on for figures. I am really looking forward to the OG next month.

The pics on the Flagg definitely help improve him, but I don't have a Flagg (nor do I want one, I'd have nowhere to put it even if I had a house and not an apartment).
I haven't opened mine yet, really not sure if I'm going to. If I do, I'm considering just slapping the head onto my custom one. He's missing the belt (that they could've used from the 25th Hawk) and those chicken legs from the ROC Hawk are just awkward. His entire build is off after seeing it in person. Broad boxy chest, chicken legs and shapeless arms. Whereas Tollbooth's awkward proportions grew on me over time (even though I fixed mine) Keel-Haul keeps looking worse and worse the more pics I see of him. |

Here's how my Bombadier looks in package-can't tell if his chest/torso is broken/separated. Has anyone had theirs look like this but opened and found it's just how he's put into the bubble twisted and yet he's put together just fine?

Hey, idrawcomics, nice share. Yeah, my Joes are a big part of who I am, as well.
I don't draw, but my first Joe toys were the Skystriker and Rattler, followed by the Raven and Conquest. I obviously had the ground and sea vehicles as well, but the aircraft were magical to me. Long story short, my love of Joe translated to a deep respect and admiration for our military, so much so, that when I was 18, I enlisted in the Navy. My chosen field was Airframe Structural Mechanic, after 8 years I got out and worked on Bourbon St for awhile, but needed to get back to my aircraft. I went and got my Airframe and Powerplant license and moved to FL. While there I worked as an intern for a flight school that paid me a small salary and paid for pilot's license up to commercial rating. It was neat to me four years ago at JoeCon talking to Larry Hama, telling him about how Joe helped shape me. I shard how we had a few schools down there. I was based in Pompano Beach and the next bigger school was in Kissimmee. When the planes would break at ISM, I'd grab my tools, parts, file a flight plan and take on of the school aircraft up there to fix the plane, then fly home. Usually all in the same day. It was so cool to have Larry look at me and tell me, "you talk about getting in a plane and flying somewhere the same way I talk about getting a car and going to the grocery store". That was cool to hear like that. Thanks Joes and all you out there that get it. |

Thanks for sharing Idrawcomics! This is one thing I like about collecting sites, yes we all like different figures and scales, but at the end of the day We're all a community.
I don't mean to take away from such a compelling post. But I used to hide the fact I collect toys during most of high school. But I mentioned I had a huge collection of Star Wars figures to a few Sw fans and soon I had other people asking me what figures I collect and others sharing their varied collection. I just turned 20 Feb 5 and I could not be happier collecting plastic crack. I've brought a figure to school and other places just to play with when I'm bored(I don't really like app games). Just don't let negativity get you down folk! My best friend and I used to trade figures in secret on the bus and such when we were in junior high school, but nothing much more than that. My family was very poor after my father passed away (it was me, my three brothers, and my mom), so I wasn't very popular in school to begin with... until I started drawing all the time and garnered some (so called) friends from that. I do know one guy that got caught with a He-Man figure called Dragstor or something like that at school and it ruined his young life. I had given him the figure and he was messing around with it outside before we got on our buses when a few of the ninth grade jocks (we were in the seventh) grabbed it from him and started making fun of him and shoving him around. Then all the girls started laughing at him. Embarrassed, he started telling them it wasn't his and told them it was mine. I am not proud of it, but I denied it to try and disappear as quickly as I could to avoid what I knew I would be put through... exactly what he was going through at the time. Like I said, I'm not proud of what I did, but I got the hell out of there and left him to the sharks. He was made fun of for that one figure for months and months and he never truly was the same after that. No girls would talk to him, and most anyone else that did talk to him did so just to make fun of him. I felt so sorry for him and we didn't talk much after that either. I was simply too embarrassed for not being there for my friend. I don't think he ever forgave me. About a year later he was heavily into drugs and getting into trouble... last I heard he and his girlfriend had been arrested for stealing money from the local Pizza Hut where she worked. I guess I got a little off subject, but being into toys and such was like the Plague when I was in school. It was taboo at the time, but you have to understand how different things were then. Now collecting toys and such seems like a cool thing for kids that age to do and is more accepted, but when I was younger, it was an instant death by embarrassment. Being from a small town in the mountains of North Carolina doesn't help it much either. Things used to be so backwards here... still are in a lot of ways, but nothing like it was 20 to 25 years ago. I remember a guy I knew in school admitting he was gay and he was beaten, relentlessly, for it... numerous times. Things aren't like that really anymore around here, but they were back then. Being different wasn't really tolerated. I remember even being called "gay" because I didn't play sports in high school and sat there with my pencils and sketchbook instead of hanging out with the jocks. I played sports, especially basketball, a lot, but I never went out for any teams or anything... just for fun. I was too nerdy... with the art supplies and the Batman t-shirt. I guess what I'm trying to get across is what a crap load of anti-bullying commercials and such say. Be yourself... be proud of who you are, and everything will work out in the end. Play with your action figures, read your comics, love who you want to, dress how you want to, and do it with as much pride as you can possibly have. I just wish I had had the guts to stand up for my buddy way back then. Maybe his life could have turned out a little better than it did. I hope he found his place in life and finally found some sort of happiness and comfort. I know most probably won't believe that his life turned out like it did because of a toy, but that's the way it goes in a small town sometimes. It doesn't take much being said or done to ruin someone's life and everyone should know that. Be mindful of what you say and do to other people.

I was going to sell Bombardier, but given that he's probably not going to fetch the big bucks and given that the card was creased, screw it; I opened him. Now I have to stop trying to accidentally call him Barricade.
Thank you for posting pics on the Flagg. Very cool stuff. Quote:
I've only had two figures that looked like anyone I've known. DEF Shockwave looked exactly like a friend from high school, though my friend's hair was more lightly colored. One of the Star Wars Rebel Endor Troopers looked exactly like a coworker from a few years back, but the trooper had slightly less hair. |

I saw a few people mention putting the Gen. Hawk holster belt on Keel Haul, did that last night. Unscrewed the legs, and had to heat up the belt to get it over the hips but it works. Looks cool, but his pistol is way too big for the holster (it's kind of oversized to begin with, I think). I replaced it with one of the older smaller .45s. Also replaced his hands with some black gloved ones that are a little stiffer and have a better finger positioning so he can hold his accessories better. Also thinking about adding the sleeve patch and maybe more chest medals, since the Club's looks a little skimpy. I'll try to add a pic later.
