I sent 8 Mighty Muggs to Maryland that took 18 days, so shipping to Greece using Parcel surely could take a LONG time.
I only ship Priority or Express International (except to Tankers with good feedback) to comply with Paypal's buyer/seller protection policy, and they're both tracked. If the buyer doesn't want to pay the fees, I say they don't want the item badly enough. Major Blood is right, though, you should be able to track the Customs number |

I have purchased from other countries and it takes a long time. Generally folks who get this huffy about it need to wait it out a bit longer. Just send eBay the communication between the two of you with said deal in it and that will be sufficient to end the dispute since the guy agreed to it. Assuming you have said communications.
If not, then there is little to do other than plead your case and hope eBay sides with you.

You're out of luck. Ebay will side with him and you'll be out money and toys. My advice, if sticking with Ebay and Paypal, ship only to approved countries and only with delivery confirmation/signature if necessary. I've sold overseas a few times to non-paypal areas and will only take money orders/cashiers checks. Once they clear, I ship and not a moment before. Unfortunately, there are horrible buyers on ebay that will gladly take you for a ride. Sounds like you were trying to be nice, but just remember this is business and you need to protect yourself. Lay out in your auction your shipping requirements and don't bend, or this stuff will happen. Sorry for your loss.

this is why i don't deal with people overseas. Too much work.
Ebay is good if you know how to use it and make VERY clear your terms. Also, as others have noted you need to make sure you have everything in writing and available proof, because it is eBay's duty to protect the buyer moreso than the seller. Matter of fact, most business work this way (not just ebay). My two cents. |

I have shipped to Canada, Puerto Rico, China, England and Australia. I have refused to ship to Thailand, Mexico and a few other places. Basically the people I shipped too were regular ebayers with great feedback who regularly got shipments from the US. They knew it would take a while and that shipping would be costly. I have had no problems. I had one guy say he never got a football card and I sent a substitute. Over a month later it finaaly came so the guy mailed me some football cards to even us up. Great guy. I had one football card take 3 months to arrive. No fault on the seller. He shipped it the day after I paid for it. It got lost in postal system for 3 months. Strange things do happen. I have only had one or two bad experiences on ebay in over 1000 transactions. Dispute system always got me my money back. So far so good.

not to jack your thread.. but I just had an issue during the week with this ebay seller..
I purchased a bunch of Tomahawk parts then 9 days later, I email him regarding if/why it hasnt shipped since I did a buy it now and paid right at the moment.... he responds with "i was on vacation... yaddy yadda yadda... then on Wednesday night, he leaves me 4 unpaid item strikes. I was shocked and insulted.. I emailed him and ebay with the receipt of payment from paypal for all 13 items.. not only it wasnt shipped and 11 days later he comes back from vacation and leaves unpaid item strikes. the next day he removes the strikes and leave some BS excuse blaming ebay for the mistake. but idiots like this makes me pull my hairs out

well i've talked with the guy and he said he hadn't gotten the item but if it did show up he would drop the claim which i guess i just have to go off of his word.
Needless to say when i sell on ebay from now on it's only to the U.S.A and to Canada b/c i can get tracking and sig. confirmation on these. Chalk one up to a lesson learned |

I have sold over 5,000 items on eBay in the past 5 years or so. This is my experience:
Pay Pal has one mentality: The seller is always wrong. Always has been. As as seller, you could have sold to Ken Lei, and Pay Pal would find YOU guilty. Ebay's new rules allow extortion to run rapid, and they don't give a shit. You can't leave feedback that is negative at all for a buyer. Even if you try, eBay will remove the comments. You cannot do anything but take it up the ass as a seller since the new CEO took over. He is a dick, who admitted to never have used eBay before. He's basically taking Amazon's model and applying it to eBay. If you think eBay is bad for sellers, try Amazon. Amazon's rules are so jacked, that Amazon sells stuff on their website, and as sellers, they EXEMPT themselves from their own rules that ever other seller has to follow! I get buyers about every other month who hold my feedback at ransom in demand for free toys basically, for no reason other than they know they can get away with it. eBay has gone down the toilet, and it's getting worse. Try craigslist.org. Freecycle. Pennysaver. Swapmeets, Garage Sales, anything but eBay. I am liquidating my inventory, and I am getting out of the toy business forever because of eBay. I wish I had better news, but I have fought many, many battles on eBay, and I have lost every single one. Even with receipts, emails - proving my story was right. Still lost. Why? Cause eBay wants to be Amazon now, and they both hate honest sellers. You can try to file a complaint with the BBB. Google them. They have gone to bat for me in the past against these vile companies. Sometimes, with moderate success. Best of luck. |
