after only mere months, and many, many shipwrecks found....and rejected for paint issues...i have finally bought a shipwreck!
it wasnt without effort...i had to do quite a few touch ups. however, it is much easier to do touch ups that involve adding paint, rather than try to cover up all the sloppy paint smears that i had been encountering. take a look at the pic....wherever you see a red arrow, thats where a small dab of paint was used to fill in the blanks. he looks great if you stick with what my bud and i call "the three foot rule"...looks great from three feet or more...three feet within...then there are issues. im still going to look at shippys as i find them...and if i find one that is great, without touch ups, i will probably replace him. but for now, im happy. Good for you!
I would have never had the nerve to wait that long for quality. So now that you have him what do you think? |

So now that you have him what do you think? if they dont earn 100% acceptance from jumpstreet, i always, even if waaay in the back of my mind, see them as "tainted". sometimes i can get over it, somtimes i cannot. bad paint jobs and crooked weaponry are the most prominent of the "issues" which i take with a figure. i really hope to find another one, a better one. however, despite that, i am glad that i finally have one of my favorite characters in my collection. |

I did the same thing when I got my Shipwreck, just touched up all of those unpainted hairy areas. I actually had to touch up my Ripper's beard, goatee and hair, too when I got him.

What brand paint are you using for touch-ups? Was it air-brushed?

air brush? wow, i wish my skills were near that level. prepare to be amazed, and disappointed on how i did it... .44 cent bottle of acrylic paint from the craft dept. at walmart. applied with... are you ready for this high-tech paint delivery system? the tip of a small safety pin. next time my wife wants a room painted, i may try the safety pin method....should only take me 32 years to get that request scratched off the do-list. |

This guy is by far the hardest to find with an acceptale paintjob. I found a pile of them one time at a Wal-mart & let me tell you, he was growing his beard on ALL areas of his fcae... @_@ the worst... That being said, the very 1st Shipwreck I ever found was a "shark" tattoo & the paint was SPOT ON.
After that I hunted for the "perfect paint" with the anchor tattoo, eventually, he was found. ^_- |

As I know many of you are customizers, the responses to this should be interesting and eclectic. |
