What figures do you think Hasbro will really make for the 35th/40th or 50th anniversary line?
a few Battle Force 2000 figures? Star Brigade? Hell no lol obscure characters from either from the animated movie or some random obscure normal folk character from an episode? Eco Warriors? Gung Ho figure in the marine dress uniform? or a creepy Iceberg whale dream nightmare figure? lol |

I mentioned this is another post regarding the future of GI Joe, there's not many figures left to complete the 1982-1989 line in 25th style.
for example, there's only 4 cobra figures (actual characters, not nameless troopers) to complete the Cobra line-up, Golobulus, Royal Guard, Raptor and Crystal Ball. As far as Cobra troopers go, theres only 5:Hydro Viper, Astro Viper, Toxo-Viper, HEAT Viper and T.A.R.G.E.T. Similarly, theres only about 11 more Joes left in the line-up as well. Obviously, I have no idea what Hasbro has in mind, but I personally would be tickled pink if they gave any of the above figures, but that's just me as I'm big on having a "complete lineup." In the end, I think we'll see a lot of the figures from the concept vault, which would be great, even though most of them are remakes, they are top notch "ultimate" versions, and HEAT Viper was in there, which I REALLY want. I think we will also see a few of the characters i mentioned above. Theres been a lot of talk about a 6 inch line, but i just don't see Hasbro taking GI Joe in that direction, but who knows. I'll tell you this though, I want that mother-f*#@in' HEAT Viper somethin' fierce, and I want an Ultimate Serpentor, because all 3 versions we have are really bad. |

Action Soldier, Action Pilot, Action Marine, Action Sailor,
all in the current sculpt. they could do them as both 1964 homages and modern updates.

I think alot of the vault figures are a pretty good bet. Particularly that Storm SHadow, since he is one of the main characters to bank on. I would love seeing 88 Stormy on the pegs again. The wave 1 25th one was pretty mediocre overall.
I think we have a good chance of seeing HEAT Viper and that Leatherneck. Gung-Ho, Destro, Lady Jaye and Flint. I think something ninja based and zombie based (tehre was a picture floating around with actual art for these sets somewhere....wasn't there?) I think all we can expect for modern updates is a trickle here and there. There aren't that many more bankable figures, but i think we will get one every once in awhile. I don't expect to see Crystal Ball at retail unfortunately. Raptor updated...maybe. It would be neat to see some old-school military Joes in 3.75 inch scale. That is a possiblity since it is the 50th. Will the SDCC exclusive be a Joe COlton? |
