Just curious what the sdcc gi joe exclusives were selling for right after comic con on eBay. As opposed to later on. Did prices drop rise? And anyone who has previous years prices I'd be curious about as well. As you all know if you're reading this. Looks like people are trying to get a little over a 100 for this years exclusive. I of course want one and 100 extra isn't that bad considering I'm not trying to go there deal with all the people, lines, hotel, and airfare. So wondering should I buy now or wait it out and try and save even more. I bought early on this years joe con night boomer and wish I would've waited. Paid almost 250 right away😁😳😢😂😭✌

I don't know how much the Shockwave HISS set sold for, but I got mine for $80 plus $20 shipping ($100 total) about 6 months after the Con. I got it through the marketplace on a website like this one, but not this one.

Last year's had a small spike then leveled off. 2011's was better done and had a spike then went down for a while, but with it being starscream it sells for over $200 now.
This year's will probably spike and keep going up since they increased the transformers tie-ins for it. |

I think this year's version is a dud and will go down. Baroness is the only x-factor to me.

I think as a general rule of thumb prices go down post the conventions. People are always excited when they see new product and overpay.
It is selection bias. Those who really want the sets will bid them up and buy them immediately. After those buyers are out of the market, prices come down b/c the next wave of buyers are less excited.........those are my 2 cents. |

I paid $80 for the sdcc cs zarana on eBay during the first day of the convention. (there were a few with cheaper buy it now prices, but they got snatched up quickly).
I just checked eBay, the cheapest was $75. If it is something that is limited I would buy right away because A. More people have listings so there is an artificially large supply. B. As time goes on rare items become harder to find listings to buy.

Yes and no. Prices seem to trend higher during and immediately after the convention. Then they go down as the hype falls off. They they often start creeping back up as the supply out there settles in to personal collections and the available numbers go down. Case in point, the 2011 JoeCon figures were going for insane amounts of money a few months ago during 2013 JoeCon. Some single figures were well over $200.

I'm going to sell my Shockwave Hiss and all the pieces/figures, so I hope there's still some demand for it. Can't get the first, don't want the third, so the second set doesn't mean much to me.
