Ok, I was thinking about this early this morning when I was going in a 24hr Walgreens at 4am. Of course they had the same ole couple pegs warmers.
But my thoughts were what??? What is everyones favorite way to find want you want. I mean what really gets you excited? Flea market, craigslist, Ebay, the tank, Etc, for some reason I always get excited pulling in a parking lot knowing im headed straight to the toy isle, always has. Rushing back there just and there there are pegs full of new stuff. What a rush, I find and buy many ways but the way I first started really is my favorite I guess because of the unknown. I can hit Ebay type what I want a click its in the mail. Satisfying to a degree but only when ive failed the search in the wild.

For something I know will be very hard to find for example wave 3.5 which has 1 fig per case assortment, preorder online with bbts. As for the secondary market, ive had good luck and good Experiences buying fom other tankers using the BST threads. I've become increasingly dissappointed with eBay. There are so many garbage listings and absurdly priced items. For example right now my local target has a pile of blue hiss tanks on clearance for $9.98 that they cant move, but eBay has them for $22-$50 plus shipping cost. My favorite is Marshalls. Although its been a while since I found any GI Joe. Loved the $20 Skystrikers, a $5 Crimson Hiss, and even found a couple of the DG repaints for $5 each (That was the SW and SS repaints). Found some Transformers Prime figures for cheap too.

I travel a lot for the work I do. Every small town or big town has a walgreens, target, cvs, rite aid there. I love the hunt it's a lot of fun. When you find that one figure you need or want and didn't have to pay crazy prices. That to me is worth it. I know some people say the cost of gas but I have to do something when I'm stuck out of town with nothing else to do.

Going into that store Ive never been to!Thats always exciting for me!My wife found a Walmart in Tillman's Corner,Alabama that is stocked with gijoes like the 80's! as least 100 figures on the shelves! she brought my boy home 6 or 7 gijoe troopers(halo heads),a figure Ive only seen twice in the wild before that, and that was some time ago.
eBay is my personal favorite place to shop for figures tho,and its like Christmas when you get home. I don't care how old you are, that never gets old |

I love this, I remember as I kid, probably 10 or 11, the 82/83 wave had been out for awhile and Walmart was slow to refill shelves as usual. I hadnt seen new figures in awhile. We where in town shopping and went in Woolworths which was a big chain in the 80s. They still had 82 series figures and we loaded up on them.. We had already played with, lost or broke some so it was a good find.

Love the hunt way more than ordering online! I know that is an unpopular stance here on the tank. I know most say Retail is dead...But I still like the excitement of finding new stuff! If Hasbro no longer sells GI Joe in stores Im more than likely done...Ordering on line is stale and boring. Of course I got some cash...I could always just open a little toy store and just fuel my habit!

I always love finding the new stuff at retail. However, my favorite method is Flea Market/ Yard Sale (as you would assume if you've ever read my finds page) Because of the uncertainty, because of the price, and Because of the rush when I find a rare piece for so cheap.

I love the hunt. The thrill of finding something you've been looking for for a while is the ultimate,e toy collectors thrill. I don't mind ordering online when I need to but the wait is absolutely agonizing. When I come home from work and see a package in the door it's like Christmas!
