There have been a lot of gripes about how expensive the Club figures are. Especially with them being used parts and repaints. And still they are priced at $25 or more a piece(including shipping). My question is: Would they be worth it to you guys, that pass on the Club FSS and membership figures, if they had the Hasbro Concept Case Style? Would those figures be worth signing up for the FSS? Would they, in your eyes, be worth spending $25+ for each?
I, personally, feel that the Concept Case style figures is what we should be getting from the Club. At those prices, for a 4" action figure, they should have the best design and articulation and accessories known to man. But hey, that's just my opinion. |

I think that it is the future of G.I.Joe.

What's different from what we get with the Club to the Concept Case figures?
The articulation is the same. The Club figures have a lot of accessories. The Club does a great job matching parts to create the vintage look. What am I missing?

Hell. No.
They can keep their 25 buck figures.

I don't even care about the accessories anymore. I have a box full of them, and anything new that I want I can get from Marauders. But yeah, for a subscription service, I'd happily pay to get figures like that Gung Ho and Destro rather than something as lame as tan Grunt or some international figure that I didn't even know existed until I was in my mid 20's.
They can do it. They made the Hit & Run from the concept case, but they ruined it by making him a Night Force figure, which was just unnecessary. Essentially, the FSS needs to become the way we get Ultimate figures, for the characters that need them most. And Gung Ho is probably the best character that has the absolute worst figure, so he's a prime example. |

For the price of a figure I think we should be getting more for our buck. The figures are pretty expensive, so why not give us the best.

What I was referring to was with the prices we pay for the FSS figures we should be getting better designs. The figures we see in the FSS are different than what we see in the Hasbro Vault. The figures we see from the FSS are what we see on the pegs. Yes, we do get better head casts for a lot of the FSS figures, but when we are seeing more and more reused parts from figures we already have. And when we see some figures getting recasted vintage heads(like Iceberg), I just feel that when we pay those prices we should be seeing a newly sculpted Iceberg head, or a newly sculpted Covergirl head(isn't that the same sculpt from the comic 3 pack?). We should be seeing newly sculpted parts, not Sci Fi's pants on Cesspool.

uhm.... you do realize that the Club is limited in the parts they use right? They are not casters. They are limited to basically existing Hasbro parts and then only what Hasbro lets them have.
Used to be that the Club could only use parts that Hasbro wasn't, but now that restriction is lifted. We actually saw parts used in a Club figure before a Hasbro due to the Retaliation delay. Hell, the figures see in the case are not how those would end up looking when released at retail anyways. Basically you want the Club to create an entire figure from scratch and sell it for $25? Not happening. That would be a $50 figure from the Club. The Club deals in figures in the hundreds. Hasbro deals with figures in the thousands (if not hundreds of thousands). The reason the Club figures cost so much is because it costs them more money to make. Economy of scale. Would I love to see the Club do better figures? Of course. Is it going to happen? Not unless you want to start paying $50 bucks a figure.
