Look at how freaking amazing and perfect this figure is.
Every detail that was present on the original vintage figure is on this one, but with better proportions, articulation, and deco. The head sculpt is AMAZING. The figure is truly AWESOME. I'm a Storm Shadow fanatic and I gotta admit, Hasbro has really spoiled me. The 30th/Renegades version is the best to date and I love it cause it represents what I feel SS would look like in the "real world." And in a few weeks we'll have the Ultimate 1984 comic/sunbow version....also looks just amazing. Seriously the be-all and end-all update of the original figure. And we even have a 1991 version from the Dollar Store line....while it's not perfect, it's certainly close enough and quite a surprise considering I never thought they'd get around to updating a figure from that late in the line. So what's that leave us with? We need this new updated 1988 figure. The 25th version was a piece of crap. Seriously. It was inaccurate as hell and I hated it even when it was new. This concept version is a work of art!! (Along with Destro....damn is that one cool Destro or what?) Hasbro hasn't revealed any plans beyond Retaliation Wave 4 which is gonna get spotty distribution at best. The future is totally uncertain. All I know is....I want this guy. They can't end the line without releasing this perfect version of Storm Shadow. It seriously might trump the others as the best of all time. Unfortunately, other than buying Joe toys (which we already do) we are powerless when it comes to getting this guy produced. I sincerely hope this figure makes the leap from concept to reality!! |

Looking at those case pics only bring me depression. Knowing that hasbro has the skill & know how to make AMAZING joe figures. But they can't due to profit margins and shareholders.
I love that SS btw as well! <opens beer> Gungo-Ho still can't hold on to his grenade launcher though |

That Storm Shadow would be the perfect compliment to the POC "Ultimate" Snake Eyes in my collection. And Gung-Ho would get a vintage XM-76 or MGR grenade launcher instead of that wimpy looking version. I pray that these would eventually get released in the near future (it happened with Kwinn and Data Viper).

And to some extent... the Night Force Lady J. That Storm Shadow is perfect, you are right. I compared that pic to the 25th version and the 25th is laughable.

I did a custom of him last year(before the reveal of course)...now I want to redo the head but otherwise I am pretty pleased with how he turned out...nailed the camo pattern anyway.

Yeah, that 25th version looks really dated compared to the stuff that's out there now. I would've been happy with the Renegades SS being repainted as the v2 SS, but after seeing the concept case version, I say no more repaints!

The storm shadow is really nice, and the gung ho/flint etc, I second the motions to see these produced.
