Don't have one yet, but if it's true the figs will not fit in the seats, then I'm going to "borrow" some clear small hair bands from my daughters to keep them in the seats. You should be able to use the clear bands in the 25th multi-figure packs too, but I never held on to those.

I actually had to make the tough decision to cut the harness straps on Airborne's legs to get him to half sit down...

Geez guys just look at the back of the box. The front rotors are supposed to be slightly tilted forward as the back rotors are slightly tilted back. The Tomahawk is most closely based on the real-life Marine Chinook chopper, which does the same thing. I have absolutely no complaints about this toy at all. I mean yes, clear bottom glass in the canopy would have been nice, and removable seats a plus; but this does not diminish the cool factor of this thing in the least. I love the newly designed .30 caliber side guns, love the new missiles, absolutely love everything about Lift-Ticket( and mine came perfect ). I even like the tinted windshield. When you hold the new one up to the old one, the old version looks very dated( still cool, but dated ). Also, yes it can be very tricky getting some of the figures to sit down, but I used to have a BBI 1:18th scaled Blackhawk and getting figures to sit in that thing was next to impossible! If you are patient, and creative you can get 8 or 9 figures in the back section! 5 sitting, and 3 or 4 more in kneeling positions which look great. I am definitely going to get another one and put the alternate stickers on that one( another super cool feature Hasbro did not have to do ); and I may buy a third one to keep mint in box. The Tomahawk was my favorite vehicle as a kid because of the versatility, and the Modern Eaglehawk/Tomahawk is my favorite modern vehicle. If we never got another large vehicle from Hasbro I would pretty much be ok with that.

We use (or used since the V-22 replaced them) CH-46's in the Corps aka Sea Knights. The Army uses CH-47 Chinooks, which are much larger. I would say the Eaglehawk is cross between a Sea Knight and a Huey

And while yes, the rotor heads move in the real thing, it's not a detail I'd be wont to believe Hasbro would "get". |

Sorry if this has been mentioned already, but are the rotor blades meant to be removed once assembled? I know they fold back, but I don't think that's going to cut it for me.

They can be popped off as needed. I just keep folding mine until they pop out. Easy enough to put them back in.

I always compared the tomahawk to a 47 but that torque countering tail rotor ( 3 sets, really?) isnt on any real world bird with dual rotor heads since the combining transmision resolves the torque of the main drive system on a 46 or 47.
So I just pretend the tail rotor is a manuevering fan, not tied into the main drive. But theres really no need for it since even on dual mast systems, pulling on the collective allows you to translate in any direction anyway. So maybe its just a big shop fan for the A&P guys turning wrenches in the litter box. |
