Realistically, long term, I highly suspect 25th Short Fuze, or to be honest, just about everyone short of STalker and Cobra Commander from the Ultimate Battle Pack from 2008 as being true "grails".

I think it will be a situation akin to Mission Brazil where collectors largely ignored the pack due to its retail cost and perceived redundancy, thus it sold to kids and parents, leading to less on the second hand market.

Frankly, there are a LOT more Alpines, QuickKicks, and Dustys in ciruculation due to collectors than I suspect of silver headed IG Destro, or desert Steeler, or Vehicle Gunner, or Short Fuze.

Hands down Yellow Stalker is the undisputed holy grail of the 25th line. It has nothing to do with desirability but rareness. The yellow version was an unintended paint mistake that made it out into distribution and was corrected in both a running change and later releases. They were in a single wave shipment and that was it. It wasn't an exclusive from a convention or club, it wasn't an intended variant and it wasn't a cancelled wave item that ended up at discount retailers.

Now there were some other unintentional variants that, while rare, are less common like anchor hat Gung Ho and more common like the Shipwreck with different tattoos and the SE w/black timber.

The Stinger was available from BBTS for a long time and did see release in retail even if it wasn't as wide as many would like. The same goes for the best of the 80's back with Alpine. I found one at Target or WM and then a bunch at Marshalls.

Feel free to argue but a simple eBay search will show you how rare an item is based on how frequently it shows up and the price range it fetches. Stingers are common and can be had for $35-60 MOC, loose Alpines are common and can be had for $50-100 but a Yellow Stalker fetches $80-200 MOC.

I see a "holy grail" as any fig that you want more than anything, but can't find.....to some, it could be a zombie viper....to me? An inexpensive Jinx....or Zarana.....even a bNb slaughter...( really don't like the two sdcc ones)....

To me, "holy grails" are things of legend. For the 25th line, these would be anything that never saw production - like prototypes. Kind of like the Boba Fett with firing rocket concept.

This would be the carded Zap, NF Flint, Resolute SS, etc. we all saw mock-ups of, but never saw on store shelves.

If we look to the POC line - this would extend to PP Croc Master and the olive Blowtorch. They even showed these in the Club mag and DePriest stated at Joe Con they existed - somewhere.

If we look at Joe Con sets and exclusives - my holy grails for the 25th line would be the modern International figures - Sgt. Manleh, Sgt. Topson, Sgt. Shimik, Sgt. Redmack, Blades, and the v3 Starduster.

My 25th holy grails are the con exclusive python patrols. I live in Malaysia, so i can never able to attend those joecons and with ebay selling those con exclusive python patrols, it was unaffordable for me few years ago.
