I was wondering if anyone else has come across a similar problem with Ripper's jaws of life weapon. It seems that I have a jaws of life weapon with 2 of the same part. The "pinchers" appear to be the same for both sides of the device. When they are put together correctly you can see how they don't sit right. I have noticed that one side has a small hole and the other side has a slightly larger hole which is indented. The larger hole is used to fit around the pegs. Did Hasbro make this same mistake with them all? Did they only make a mold for one side to save money? I didn't notice the problem while I was in the store, and the figures were still in their packaging. I usually give my figures a good looking over before buying. I pay more attention to paint apps than anything else, so I guess I let this one slip by me.
I am thinking of emailing Hasbro with the pics to see if they could issue me a replacement part, if they make one that is. Have any of you contacted Hasbro in the past asking for a replacement part of anything? If so let me know how that experience turned out for you. I don't want to have to buy another comic pack just for this part, and then have to sell the other opened one on Ebay. Please share your thoughts. Scoop. Looks like an assemby error that happened in the factory maybe? Mine has two different pieces as well.

Yeah that's what I figured. Someone must have been sleeping on the job. I think I'm going to email Hasbro about this. Hopefully they can just send me out a replacement piece free of charge. Maybe they will even send me something else for free for my troubles. My uncle has emailed quite a few toy companies in the past to complain about things, and he has received coupons and free merchandise from them.
If anyone has any stories about dealing with Hasbro when it comes to things like this please let me know. |

^^ If that falls through, hit me up via PM... I still have my non-functional JOL from my original figure and I don't really care about it being functional as I only display my figures, so I can spare it.
So if all else fails with Hasbro, I'll send you my functional JOL.

My Ripper doesn't have the problem that yours does, but the QC on him is horrible. The pin (in the hips) that holds the legs in place was installed crooked, so he can't stand real well. Torch is perfect, though.

Ok I emailed Hasbro yesterday and here is the reply I received today...
Thank you for contacting Hasbro, Inc., and for bringing this matter to our attention. I apologize for any disappointment this may have caused. Please be assured that I have shared your concerns with the product team. We will be pleased to arrange an exchange for you. To help facilitate the process, we are sending you a postage paid mailing label to use when returning the item to us. All you need to do is package up your return and place the mailing label securely on the package. Drop it off at the Post Office window and it’ll be on its way back to us. Once the product is received at our returns facility, we will send a new replacement product. If there is a production delay and this product is not available we will replace it with a product of equal value. I want to assure you that all of us are dedicated to maintaining quality products. I hope you and your family will enjoy our products for many years to come. Ok well I shall see how this turns out if that mailing envelope ever reaches me. |

That's the worst thing you can do... Never send back to Hasbro. They live by their "Equal Value" rule. You won't get another Torch/Ripper Two-pack. You'll get whatever they have sitting on a shelf that's close to the same value and nothing like what you had.
Your best bet is to arrange a deal with Xerofall or wait a week or two and find another at Wal-Mart. Last edited by Hicks_Royel; 01-10-2008 at 04:53 PM.. |
