So it feels like they got the old factories of Mattel and/or Mcfarlane due to the QC. There are a few figures that DO have nice paint apps, it seems some of them care for their work.
My gripe is on the limbs. One Beachhead I got disassembled his own left thigh, apparently the connector was broken. And yhen I got a MU wolverine with both left thighs, spiderwoman with both right legs and a cap whose arm broke off when I was posing him. |

I got a DG black Cobra Commander and his arm snapped off at the shoulder when i tried to move it. So now i have a CC that looks like that Zombie the Michael Jackson Thriller video whose arm falls off while walking.
I have a Armor Tech Gen Hawk (from the Armor Bot) that has two left hands.

Has anyone who has the 25th Armidillo noticed the jacked up barrel on the top left side(Facing it)? I thought it was just mine, but the pics I found here on the tank are also like that.
Same with the tail fins of the 25th Rattler. They sit a little cockeyed. Again thought it was just mine, but the one on YoJoe and Here sit a little un even. Minor, but it bugged me for a while until I realized it was a mass design flaw. Still wouldn't trade em for anything. :^)

The Skystriker I bought at Target had two left wings. Had to exchange it.
The Ross Sand Serpent I bought had two left vertical stabilizers, had to return that too. |

I've SEEN some bad paint apps on many HASBRO figures in the past, but usually keep looking for ones with good paint. The only time I gave in was when I picked up the Ret Lady Jaye a few months ago, she had wonky eyes. That was the only time I had found her at retail and, instead of keep looking, just picked her up and repainted the eyes myself. Good thing, too, because I've yet to see another in the stores.
I had one 25th Arctic Snake Eyes' left arm snap off at the shoulder as soon as I took it out of the package. This was a few years ago when they were clearanced out at Marshalls for $3. He was purchased for custom fodder anyway, so it wasn't really a big deal. |

The paint apps can be very sloppy. I've also gotten a figure with it's arms on the wrong sides and another with two right upper arms. Because of that I don't order from online stores anymore, I won't buy anything without seeing it first.

I have only minor complaints:
I recently picked up another Retaliation HISS Tank... this time the chin turret wouldn't snap into place and stay. Fortunately I was able to fix this by cutting up one of the plastic baggies and stuffing it into the slot. Fits like a glove now. Also, back in '09 my Rise of Cobra Cover Girl came fresh out of the package with loose legs. I took her apart and discovered she was missing the rubber friction pads to maintain poseability. I added my own, courtesy of bits from a kneaded gum eraser and she's still as good as new to this day. Oh, and way back in '85, the pterodactyl Dinobot (Swoop I think is his name) came fresh out of the box with a backwards head. |

Hasbro has been consistently proving lately they hate making money. Why would a little thing like quality control bother them? What I hate the most is finally finding a figure I need and there is a paint splotch or some other error on it. But I buy it because the stores only get one case now and no idea when they will get more, or if I will ever see the figure at retail again. I have to mostly buy online and that in itself is a crap shoot. You never know what you'll get as far as paint apps.
