Spreading panic and doom and gloom wasnt my intention at all. I hate threads like these, too. I hate them even more when i have to make them.
Still. Why not fulfill kokomos orders if they had them placed for product in advance? I get that theyre smaller businesses, but for many of us, its the only way to get joes away from ebay...The 2.5/3 wave hasnt been out nearly as long as wave 1 and areas like mine JUST started getting the battle kata RB wave...why cancel this wave this soon while orders are still coming from people that never got the opportunity to order before? I dont get it and cannot see an upside here. All this move does is encourage the already ridiculous joe prices on the secondary/reseller/ scalper market. I hate to go all drama queen here, but this really looks like gijoe is going to be a shortrun exclusive line for big box retailer stores that almost categorically refuse to carry it regularly...i know it's a small thing, but i dont see how this can be good. |

I really hope they don't end up canceling Wave 4. It has movie accurate Jinx and Blind Master... They already cut the Red Ninjas from the mountain scene... I thought they wanted to try to get movie accurate figures out? I guess by this summer its on to the next incarnation of Joe so screw the figures we slacked on getting out in time... A pattern by Hasbro? Hmmm... Just ask Renegades Roadblock, Destro, Flint... Or the rest of the Resolute line... Or the rest of the 25th or 30th or etc... Why do they slack so hard and trickle figures out after the movie/tv show is long gone then move to the next totally revamped revision of Joe and give the collectors blue balls by not finishing what they started? And what they should have started 6 months to a year earlier every time? Don't they see the fallacy of this???

Well we already seen packaged ones so if they do cancel them and if those were not just "promo" packaged items to show retailers, etc then maybe there is a whole crapload of them already to go. They cancel them maybe we will still see them somewhere.

Well, they were ready with a ton of movie accurate toys for RoC and that didn't seem to help all that much, so it's probably less of an issue than it seems. The issue is just that GI Joe isn't all that popular with kids, and action figures in general aren't nearly as popular as they once were.

Jesus. Now my thread title has too much potential TOS violation punctuation and im getting lol'd for waiting to preorder a wave of toys i know i'll never see instead of driving 100 miles round trip to find absolutely nothing.
You guys are absolutely right. Its my fault for ordering a wave that just started taking preorders-the same wave that ive never seen instock at tru.com-and im in the wrong for sharing that it was cancelled for absolutely no reason. How dare i expect hasbro to make the main characters from their new movie available to the joe purchasing public that prefer to have lives away from the toy aisle and 20 dollar markups.

I don't recall Hasbro ever referring to anything as wave 2.5 that is a term that was coined by the Internet community. Also at the con the only wave Hasbro had Colton listed as part of was wave 4 likely because that is now where he will be. Colton was originally slated as part of wave 3 and that case was filled out with carryovers from wave 2. That is the assortment that was likely cancelled. There may still be a few more cases lingering ,but it is probably no longer in production. The only other wave Colton will be part of is now wave 4 and it may come after the wave which is now classified as wave 3 ,aka, the Ultimates wave. Wave 4 will consist of Night Viper, Blind Master, Jinx , Colton and the others originally slated as wave 3 ,before the movie delay ,will now be part of this wave if it is produced.
This is not rumor it is exactly as I understood it from DePriest and Warden at the con. It would be like calling the 1983 series of figures with Major Bludd and Destro the "Grunt wave" since Grunt was carried over to that series. It's just confusing. |

GI Joe Retaliation 3.75" Figures Series 03 - Set of 5 - GI Joe GI Joe Retaliation Movie (2013) GI Joe 3.75" Figures They are probably your best bet at this point. |
