I'll be buying a few Cobra sets, assuming the price is good. I'll have a few Mindbenders to part with. Hit me with a PM if you want to set something up ahead of time.

I'm happy with the 7-packs. I'm basically done army building anyway, so it doesn't really bother me that these are packaged together. I can understand wanting these single carded so someone could focus on army-building just one or two of these, but there's been worse packaging options (such as buying a 5-pack just for one character).

Yep.
Release 'em single carded later on. Just make 'em the exact same figure.

7 x 7.99 (single carded price) = 55.93
I am buying 11 of these sets (1 Joe, 10 Cobra) 55.93 x 11 = $615. 23 11 x 35.99 (MSRP of the 7 packs) = $395.89 I'll be saving $219.34 If I remove the cost of 9 extra Dr Mindbenders (@71.91) I'm still saving $147.43 Yea, I'm down for the 7 packs.

Don't get me wrong, I don't collect 'em and only watched one episode of the first season all those years ago to know that it wasn't for me, but Power Rangers has been a lot more successful over the last 15 years or so than G.I. Joe has. They still get respectable amounts of shelf-space at every major retailer year after year after year, which tells me they continue to sell and sell and sell. Hasbro wishes G.I. Joe could get to that level again. Sad but true. |

You mean we are already gonna start pissing and moaning about single carding those upcoming figures?? I love G I joe just like the next guy and finally...FINALLY...we are getting the figures that we always wanted. So what if they aren't single carded. Hasbro is giving them to us and we should be greatful for the things we get. Plus... if you wait for it long enough after the movie is said and done, Hasbro may go back and single card those figures just so they can put something back on the pegs. But who knows, if the movie bombs, then Hasbro may pack up all their Joes and molds and put them back in the attic and wait 23 years for the 50th anniversary to roll around.

Hasbro makes it so I have to buy so much more just to get singles
of Grunt, Breaker, Short Fuze, and Zap. They must know what they are doing; yet alienating old school fans like me at the same time (I don't even remember more than a couple of the figures in those Island 7-packs...and I don't want them.) I swear - I've seen vehicle driver's paired with different vehicles than what they originally came out with, vehicle driver's a different color than the original, vehicles with the wrong figure to go with, etc. Just to make one want to buy the two seperately to pair them up the way it should be. I guess I will never have all the retro figures I want. But the first wave of early 80s figures that were the first ones to carded - should be single carded now. |

if you want to get things the way you want, start your own company or go to work for Hasbro so you can dictate those things. if not, you don't get to dictate how that will occur as if deserve to be catered to. I'm much happier that these are coming out as 7 packs, so if Hasbro released them single carded another segment wouldn't get them how they wanted. the point is there Hasbro can't make everyone happy, and they sure as hell shouldn't be catering to adults who still behave like children not only in their purchasing decisions of toys but the general adolescent mentality of "I should get it how I want it because I want it!"
