Now this is a topic that needs to get started. I'm a one figure guy myself, all moc's. Unless it's golden age, then the tables are turned.
300+ Serpentors got my gears turning. Just imagine if he applied that resolve to golden age and the obscure? I shutter to think how my collection would pale in comparison.

Here's how my psychotic breakdown goes...
20 for the must haves, Cobra Troopers, Vipers; IG's, CG's and BATS 8 of the figs I like but doesn't make sense to have as many as the above mentions; Eels, divers, Resolute troopers, Air Trooper 4 of everyone else; any python patrol repaint, bazooka trooper, paraviper, hiss drivers... the one's that belong but are nothing amazing to me 0 - Red ninjas, ninja vipers. F that noise. And I keep nothing MOC. That's cruel to the toy and collector.

I collect multiples of figures I really like or feel have serious customizing potential. Troops I build up to about 15 or so. and I open all figures. Hard to truly enjoy a figure if you can't play around with it and enjoy it for what it is... A toy.

I have 10 per squad of everything except BATS, I'll troop build them until whenever, because in my mind I see the BATS as coming off an assembly line and making up the core of the disposable, sorta like, expendable ground forces because you don't have to feed, clothe, pay or whatever to them, they are not human so just keep them in a storage house and unleash at will.
Whereas the human forces need training and all the non-android necessities to keep them going so there's less of them because they're more specialized. |

one of each for me. strictly an MOC junkie. i still wrestle with the inner-kid and refrain from actually playing with my figs. they seem safe behind the bubble - almost mythical. LOL.
if i have more than one of a kind, it's usually because i came across a steal of a deal on the bay. like a mint 1st wave Flint (25th) for $10. can't miss, quick click. i see army builders on the tank and, man, that's chronic! my gf's aware that i'm addicted. but if i started army building, she'd call for an intervention. |

see i just got into army building but im not going super crazy, i just want 10 of each on a few different figs like the resolute trooper for example, i really dig him and when i first baught him i new that one just wasnt enough so he is the first figure i have started army building. i have 5 at the moment and after i get the new 5 pack with the officer and 5 more resolute troops, i think i will be done. but it is possible i will get more, lol buying the same fig over and over again does get old though so well see. i also would like to army build the cobra eel but i think 4-5 would be enough for me.

See I view the 25th anniversary line as just that, the 25th anniversary. When I want army builders, I go golden age. When I want a hiss, I go golden.
I view the 25th line as sacred and should be held in the highest reguard. I want one of every figure and vehicle in the best possible shape and condition. I do not want the rarity of the golden age mocs/mibs to become the folly of the 25th 10 years from now. That would break my heart for new collectors.
