I'm thinking of buying the 2nd run, just because I really want those OG figures. I wish I could opt out of the Iron Grenadiers, because I'm not that into them. They look nice - better, in fact, than the ARAH-styled ones I already have. Plus, Voltar is pretty cool. But the price - that's roughly $24/figure. It's a little pricey for me since I don't have a lot of expendable income.
However, what I'd like to know, from those who have this set, is do they think it was worth the price they paid? And are the figures as good as they look in the photo? (I know that this will be a 2nd run and could have some minor differences.)

In my opinion, absolutely not. I am a completist though, and I'm glad to have them.
The set as a whole isn't terrible, and certain figures are actually pretty awesome I really like Stormavik and Daina in particular. Others though like Horroshow are absolutely terrible figures. Gen Iron Bear was a waste of a spot, and uses tooling we've already seen several times. So I guess it really just depends on how much you like those characters. If you're a big OG fan, it's highly unlikely we'll ever see them released in any other form so I'd say go for it. If you want really good figures, in my opinion this set didn't live up to what it could have.

I almost agree it's not worth it. I jumped on the set because I had to have the new versions of the core Oktober Guard. I've never bought a con set before or since, although I have picked up plenty of club figs loose.
It is really good if you must have Oktober Guard: Daina, Horror Show, Shrage, Stormavik. (Brekov is a slight disappointment). Iron Bear is whatever. The IGs look cool but are hard to play with. Voltar was not a must-have character for me, but is good. |

I don't care much for the set. I particularly don't like Horrorshow he is a terrible kitbash they could have done much better. The rest are just meh I have the boxed set minus Stormavik and one of the heavy IGs I would gladly sell it for $325 shipped with everything included like the first day pin and comic with program for the show as well as the certificate of authenticity. I never even took most of the figures out of the box.

I jumped on it and regret it a lot. It was my first and more than likely last con set.
The Oktober Guard are decent, I guess. Daina is the star of the set, IMO. Horrorshow came out really bad. Iron Bear was a waste. The rest were just...boring. Half of the IG's I got had hands that fell off as soon as I put a weapon in them, so that kind of pissed me off too. But if you gotta have em, you gotta have them. |

Ok Im the odd man out, I happen to like the set. I do believe that a couple of the figures could have been done better. But over all Im very happy with the set.

OP, I don't know how many of the 2nd run is still available for order, but I doubt you'll be able to get it any cheaper than that. You should have no problem unloading the Voltar if you choose, same with the red and dark gray IGs (I forget who's what specialty). As long as you've got the cash, I say get it now while it's available. |

Worth just to have another faction to play with. The IG's are bulky and ok, but you will ever see these guys again released. Go for it.

Buy it and sell the figures you don't want.

I loved the set too. Even Horrorshow was a lot better in hand then in pictures.
