No idea.
They revealed at one point that they had been in talks with Sideshow for them to do 1/18th environments for Star Wars, but it didn't pan out/wasn't worth it. I suppose it would depend on what the goal was - playset or environment/diorama. I totally agree that Hasbro is the ideal company for it, and I'd love it if they somehow found a way to make it work. If Mattel can do this with Grayskull, then Hasbro should do it with Flagg and Terror Drome. And no, we don't want the same mold, we want UPDATED version. I can see it. Flagg that floats in swimming pool and equipped with remote control features. But who are we kidding. What adults gonna shell out $800.00 and actually put it in the water to play with Joes? Some of the wives/gayhubbies would be embarassed and make up stories about your drug overdose to get their friends' sympathies. LOL. And I should add that those MOTU Classics figures are badass but each cost about $30 - 40. Screw that. I'm even behind on the POC line. I never touch any ROC nor Retaliation. Their cards and big springloaded guns are Wii-tarded!!!
Hmm, now I'm suddenly trying to think of ways Hasbro could share tooling between a Death Star playset and a Terror Drome without suckifying both.... |

Why can't Hasbro start small and work up with offering playsets?
once they have the support of the fans and see that there is demand, maybe offer a once a year big toy... any steps taken to meet us halfway would be rewarded, i'm sure.

Joe collectors have given Hasbro precious little reason to support the kind of MEGA HUGE stuff they are asking for. But I think there is a LOT in the "mid range" worth pursuing. Stuff too big for the existing pricepoints, or too esoteric for retail. Maybe offer sets of the old Battlefield Accessories/Battle Stations sets, or maybe the Moray, HAVOC or Hovercraft (or even maybe proper RAH styled Ferret or Silver Mirage) to test the concept and the response. Then move up to stuff like the TTBP or Terrordrome.
