It would have to be plastic.
That cardboard was cheesy even in '82.

I understand some people buying the vintage one for the rarity of this Sears exclusive and the nostalgia. Similar to the cardboard SW Jawa landcrawer I got back in the day. But as a product then and now, I would say no.
My neighbor had this set as a kid, and other than getting CC before the rest of us; we were pretty unimpressed and used my SW Death Star for the Cobra base instead. It ended up falling apart pretty easily just from moving it around a few times, even though the base spent much of its time sitting on my friends display shelf in his bedroom. So I had no interest in it back then (I collected everything Cobra even back then) and none now. |

A plastic one would be great and this time add characters from both sides that have not been released yet (i.e.) Cover Girl, Mindbender, Ripcord, maybe a special pilot for rocket plane.
