This is a pic of the terrordrome I made from foamboard and posterboard some time back. This took me nearly a year to make as I was more concerned with doing it right instead of fast. Also, I do remember somebody posting a print-out-and-assemble base here on hisstank: I don't remember the name of the tanker though.

nice work. Hard to see the lower levels you got there but from what i can tell it looks to be more than fuel pumps. wouldn't mind putting this on top of an original. I have the link somewhere to the full size flagg, hq and terrordromes that someone did years ago.

how safe would an actual terror drome be with 3 fuel pumps . in the comic they were portable and quick set up.

I've got two and neither are in great shape...gonna repaint and combine them into one big one. Maybe stacking them up...thought I remember seeing that done on here one time.

The problems with making any new GI Joe playset are manifold, particularly one not in the new movie. Star Wars fans can't get a Star Destroyer or Death Star and there are many more of them who are more ravenous for a new playset ... and this year, they get a Phantom Menace vehicle and $100 price hike for the Falcon. (Last year, they got the Republic Shuttle that ended up selling for $25 on Amazon.)
Or think about the Avengers. They got the Helicarrier and it was horrible. Even the Super Helicarrier/SDCC special was only a little better. Neither was to scale nor much of a playset. The regular version is destined to show up at Ross. And this was a hugely popular movie with a pretty good selling toyline. Captain America didn't get a base - it got a rolling motorcycle platform. Iron Man got a very similar rolling HQ. Thor got nothing resembling a playset or vehicle. This stems from Hasbro's current attitude about playsets - if they aren't a vehicle, we aren't interested. (Which is why got the horrible RoC Pit instead of a multi-platformed GI Joe base that doesn't look like a boat!) On top of that, right now, Joe fans have so many different outlets to spend money on that there is no way Hasbro would waste resources even designing a Terror Drome. Consider the FSS, JoeCon coming pretty soon, the movie line, Kreos, not to mention the customizing community - and there is less cash for collector's to throw at for a pre-order. And I'm sure they noted the "premium pricing" complaints for the Club. Lastly, the biggest problem is a really nice Terror Drome would be massive. The ARAH version was really pretty poor. The top layer wasn't enclosed - and the bottom layer seemed somewhat pointless. There weren't enough guns. There was no stairway or elevator between the two levels. It was incredibly fragile. It should have come with far more than it did - like Tomax and Xamot or a few Tele-Vipers, not to mention the Ferret which was the only vehicle really designed to fit in the garage! A new version would be wider, taller, more detailed ... in other words, nothing like the original!

I picked up a Terrordrome for free about a year ago and had been working to complete, but its been frustrating because I'm using different parts from different sets that have all discolored a little differently.
I may put this rebuild on hold and go out and buy a complete Terrordrome. Then I can use this one for a custom. I've never had one, and is one thing I need!

As far as selling the drome in pieces...
you only really need 2 different designs. 1 is the section with the gun turrets. the other being the walls. or make the pieces all the same mold but customizable. with interchangable guns, weapons and whatnot. Hasbro can do like Bandai did with Power Rangers. include parts that can connect the playsets together. Each playset piece can come with a piece of the middle. Once the buyer has purchased say....5 or 6 pieces. They can than use the extra parts to connect them all into one huge playset.
