there hasn't been any 1/2 hour commercials like we used to have...so until either that happens or the 2 hour commercial happens it's not likely that kids will jump on the Joe bandwagon...they need a big square box (TV) to tell them what they want...

I all fairness, I don't see that many kids looking at Star Wars either. They're usually lined up at the Guitar Hero display.

I really don't care if kids buy them or not.
They like what they like. We like what we like. Joes are moving off pegs in my area. So, it's all good by me. I don't care if they are going into the hands of kids, or collectors like us. They are being sold in Northeastern, Pa (as I have come across empty JOE pegs this holiday shopping season) The area incorporates: the poconos stroudsburg east stroudsburg wilkes-barre scranton allentown easton nazareth bethlehem ...then after the bethlehem area, you go south for like 30 mins and you hit philadelphia, and if you go 95 miles east from where I am, you are in the middle of new york city. I live approx. 80 miles north of philadelphia, and 95 miles west of NYC. So, the radius is great for hunting, because of all these areas, and because they are all literally attainable to get to in one LONG day of SUPER hunting. I don't do the trek often...too much on gas.... But I have done the hunt from philly to NYC and hit all these places along the way for basically, a JOE expedition, from morning to night, just for the hell of it. There's like a million wal-mart stores and target stores along the way, plenty of TRU and K-mart, Kohls and what was K.B Toys, not to mention cool little comic and hobby shops. I really feel northeastern pennsylvania is a GREAT hunting ground for JOES (and really anything else collector related) because of it's easy access to so many populated and unique areas all within driving distance. I mostly frequent the poconos, and the allentown, bethlehem, nazareth and easton areas for my hunts, which all have enough retailers to find something every time i'm out hunting. |

If everytime you visit a store and all the joes are gone from the pegs, remebmer that it is a scalper at work that is trying to cash in on the christmas holidays, be careful

Wait why push your kids to like Joes.....scared for them to have any free will on their own? My parents didnt push it on me....they knew i wanted them before a Show or comic were out......Face it Folks we may be the last of dying breed. If the movie tanks (And to me it will) then its over. they might as well just market this towards adults.....

target here has gotten cleared out of joes for christmas, but walmart hasn't... i think a lot more kids would like the joes if people would just buy them for them... even without any tie-in.

I don't think Joes will be popular with the kids without a kid friendly show to link it to, or a kick ass movie.
Also, I know that my friends who have kids, or who are buying for kids, won't buy Joes because of the whole gun thing, which I can understand. |

WOW am I sick of threads like this popping up every couple of days. I went to a couple of Targets and Wal-Marts, and the Joe Section looked like it had been looted. Hardly anything left, so you can't say that kids are not buying.

Everytime I go to Target kids are screaming for a Commander Cody.....they are drooling over SW with parents saying you have to wait till Christmas...........so yeah. The day of the Clone Wars movie I went to look for Joes....there were 20 kids with parents in tow just screaming for those figs......so maybe your there during School Hours....because Ive seen a different version of your story....

I agree. We grew up with Joes and we're the ones that are really sustaining the line. They haven't been able to effectively market ARAH characters to younger generations yet, and it shows. The current Modern Era line is geared toward the nostalgic collector, not kids - no matter how much Hasbro wants to disagree. If they embraced the fact that the main buyers of this line are 18+ years old, think of what they could do with the line... no more endless Dukes, CCs, etc... |
