Night Force always made sense because there were characters that hadn't been done yet (Spearhead, Muskrat, Psyche-Out...), so it wouldn't be just repaints.
I'd prefer those characters in their regular colors, though, so I'm hoping its not.

The club could also do the Marauders and actually do them justice. A good excuse for them to roll out Footloose again and we all know how much they love to reuse the Armadillo. I wouldn't mind getting a normal armadillo in SM colors.
Since we've gotten pretty much all of the Cobra subgroups, they could make the next set Joe vs Joe. Make the comic story about a training mission, Tiger Force vs Sky Patrol for example and have the 3 pack/2 pack and extra 3 figures in the box set all be a mix of Cobra's, international characters, dreadnoks or something. |

I expect at sometime we will get a Maruader Footloose and Mutt but, probably more likely to be seen in a FSS than a convention set.

Something that DOESN'T include the same old figures over and over again. How many Snake-eyes, Dukes, Cobra Commanders, and Storm Shadows do we really need?

Well that's easy, the club generally doesn't release figures based on those (and other) "core characters" as part of their licensing agreement with Hasbro. You may want to take a moment and visit the Club site or YOJOE.com to familiarize yourself with current and past Club offerings. You might come across some items you weren't aware of.

BTW, it sure would be great if folks would refrain from all of the religious mumbo jumbo (page 7 of this thread) as outlined in the Forum rules (rule 9).

Really? I loved them when I was younger but the modern era stuff is amazing. I just started collecting within the last year so I've only been collecting the 25th anniversary and up. When I look at O ring and modern era side by side, there's just no comparison. Just my opinion though.
As for 2013, I hope it's NOT a modern era Cobra-La set, because I don't want to spend the money and I cringe thinking about the liberties the Club would take in the figure design. My vote would be Tiger Force. The world needs a modern era TF Bazooka. |

You know that part in The Big Lebowski when The Dude gets that message from the bowling league wherein the bylaws are referenced? That's what this reminds me of.

Well, in fairness to the ARAH guys, the con is for the hardcore set, and most of them have been around for a long time and have substantial o-ring collections. Certainly can't blame them for wanting it, and I think if done right (such as in correcting the wrongs of the past *cough* Pythona *cough* then an o-ring set is very merited. Also, o-ring collecting seem to be trending right now, at least as far as I can tell, in part due to a lack of new product out these days, pessimism about the brand future and because now that everyone has solid modern collections, they need something to collect.
I hope it's not Cobra-La just because I've always felt that Cobra-La was ridiculous. |
