If you enjoy displaying carded figures, by all means, continue to do it.
If you are amassing cases of unopened figures with the idea that you will sell them later, the quicker you realize that its not 1985 anymore and everybody stores stuff MOC nowadays, the better. |

Honestly, I think I just like to revel in the awesomeness of GI Joe figures...I hope to oneday have a giant room to keep everything on display.....living in the middle of a major metropolitian city doesn't allow for it right now unfortunatly.

Hey guys, Ive been collecting since '07 when the 25th Anny first came out. At first, I said to myself "Im just going to get everything with a 25th logo on it, once Hasbro removes the logo, Im done". Well here we are going into '09 and Im still chasing everything Hasbro is dishing out at us. So far Im up to date except for wave 12, the TRU CG & Greenshirt packs & the last 3 TRU SROs.
Thing is, Im running out of room. And spending too much on CPs, Singles, Vehicles, Exclusives etc etc... I dont know how to quit though. With wave 13 I found myself entering into the Resolute line which Im not sure I want to collect, even though Im very impressed with the new sculpts they have. Where should I draw the line? Should I just stick to the single carded stuff and forget about the rest? Im sure everyone knows this but come 2009 its all Resolute and Movie stuff with a dash of 25th figures here and there, so for me once 2008 wraps up, unless sometihing really grabs my attention, say a footloose or airtight, zandar and any noks im happy with what i have and am calling it QUITS! |

LOL it's true, but I love the cardback artwork retro packaging - even if they are slightly modded from the originals. To own a whole set of 1985 carded is a great dream of mine. I know Hasbro said they wouldn't single card Quick Kick so that's why I have a 1985 loose set as the centre of my collection too. I only hope they get around to making an Airtight, Footloose, and a proper Tele-Viper.

Once you break from the completist streak, it's a little easier. I have officially done that with Wave 13 and comic Wave 7 - only getting two figures from the former, and one pack from the latter.
And I have a bunch of stuff (bagged if opened, or still sealed) in a box that is going to get eBayed or listed here soon - clearing out repaints, undesirables, etc. Willpower! |

I'm an opener and army displayer, so obviously my line is really sh***y figs (dumb color Dreadnoks) and repeats (Duke and CC HIGH FIVE! )
But I also like Army Building, so I buy tons of the same fig and, well, I've gone broke. Thanks, Hasbro! The Joe addiction has gotten so bad I canceled my Transformers addiction. I'll buy the Animated and Universe stuff when it's on clearance. Yo Joe!
