I was just wandering if any of you know if the vintage skystriker wings will fit in the new skystriker body? I dont like how there is a seam and the huge "box" where the wings connect together.

No it won't work.
I will throw up a pic that will show you why in a sec. The hole in the vintage wings is to small. There is a two piece peg that the hole goes around and that's what keeps the wing from falling out and also let's it move. That peg on the 30th skystriker is to big for the hole in the vintage wing. It could be done with some modification but that's a lot of work for a wing that won't even match in color. |

color isnt an issue really as this is for a set of customs i want to do, i do notice that the vintage ones seem to be a lot smoother in texture, however i dont know what that will do overall with what i have in mind. i havent really torn into a new skystriker yet as im just kinda brain storming a few new customs for the winter months. If it is just a bigger hole im not so concerned about that, its mainly the teeth if i were to choose to keep the factory wing sweep motion.
Also if theres any tip you guys have as to how to make the new skystriker as smooth (as in texture of the skin) as possible that would be great as well. |

If I remember right the teeth are the same ( the spacing and the amount of teeth). I filed my down on my 30th Skystriker so I could sweep the wings in with the wheels out. I needed more real estate space on my Flagg. |

Dug this one up.
The teeth do look different then the vintage wing I posted above. 11 teeth on both the vintage wing and the 30th wing but the shape is different might not mesh right. Last edited by DaveViper; 09-01-2012 at 01:33 PM.. |

well just from examining the pics theres no way to make the vintage wings work, there woudnt be enough meat left on the wing for stability. Was a nice thought though, thanks for the pics. Maybe i can find a way to fasten the wings and get rid of the junk underneath and still make it look good. Its more work then i wanted but it will make for some good hobby time i suppose.
