I went to Joe Con this year in NOLA simply because I had to complete my collection with one of the most sought after sub-teams I always wanted as part of the G.I. Joe line - the Oktober Guard.
Don't get me wrong - I absolutely love the set and the Iron Grenadiers as their adversaries. I loved all the exclusives - including the old Indiana Jones truck. It all fit with the con theme of Operation Bear Trap. I just felt that this version of the OG was the "arctic" team (they all have coats and long sleeves) - not the versions we saw in the Marvel Comics, especially Col. Brekhov. I'd love to see the Guard done as a seven pack someday with maybe some other members (not General Iron Bear) - maybe Wong or Big Bear since Dragonsky was announced for FSS 2.0. And who would not want Daina in her little shorts? LOL!!!

I'm all for it. First finish off the remaining OG and then give us the more traditional uniforms.

Some of these figures were pretty close to perfect - Schrage and Stormavik stand out. HorrorShow could easily be improved upon. Daina would be nice - but why not make Volga? or Sunbow Diana? Wong would be pretty easy as would an accurate Brekhov. But I'm just not sure the sales would be there so soon after the Club sold one for roughly 7 times the price - it would piss off so many people rather than make them happy because it has the potential to be vastly superior as a whole than the Club set due to Hasbro's resources.
I just don't see Hasbro doing that. And the Club might return to this one day, I see them filling out the set by using the FSS, as they have already teased for round 2.

I sure would like an internet exclusive Oktober guard set, but it's gonna defeat the purpose of having Collector's Club exclusive.
I'm old enough to bitch about Hasbro but I'm starting to hate them for being lazy to produce good b-list characters and allowing the Club to produce it.

It would be funny as hell if the lower half of the Kwinn figure was used to make a Daina in shorts.

I went to Joe Con this year (my first), mainly because I had to have the OG. It helped it was only a 3 hour drive away too. Honestly, though, I'd buy another OG box set if offered by Hasbro.

All that Hasbro needs to do is release an Ocktober Guard set that is slightly different from the convention set, like different color/weapons and viola, no conflict with the exclusive con set. It ain't rocket science people.
