C.Y.P. Factor? It may not be a legit acronym, but I refer to it as the "Crap Your Pants" Factor. It is the reaction I felt when Hasbro first displayed the Sideshow nod POC Snake Eyes, and the Renegades Armed to the Teeth Storm Shadow. After seeing them I crapped my pants and said, "Oh yes, they will be mine."
If I was walkie-talkied by Hasbro and told, "GI Joe is soon to be no more, and we need something to save it," I have to be fourth wright and respond, "We need some crap your pants figures STAT!......over and out" My list of C.Y.P. figures I'd like to see updated or made..... Articulated Deep Six 30th Gung-ho 30th Torpedo and Wet Suit Comic Pack Sunbow Serpentor Big Lob (shut up, it's my dream) and the rest of the Cobra-la graduating class of 1987 (Nemesis Immortal is lonely, guys) oh and and the Concept Case, duh I wish Hasbro could get off their cloud and cheat off of Sideshow's test evry once in a while, because 4 inch adaptions of their work would definitely be C.Y.P. worthy like Snake Eyes was. |

A dress uniform 7 pack, covering 5 branches and both genders.
An extensive enterprises/ cobra board of directors 7 pack, with tomax/xamot, cesspool, headman, overlord, dr. Mindbender in suits, and renegades baroness. |

Personally, I'd like to see a fresh new start of marketing and brand definition. The Retaliation movie packaging looks *a lot* like the cheap Corps figures they typically sit next too. So do parents spend $10 for one figure or $5 for 3 figures that look similar?
I'd like to see Hasbro use the POC/30th style of figures and vehicles as a basis to define GI Joe as the place to go for more realism and play value. It would likely mean a much smaller assortment, but I'd like for Joe to stop trying to match what's out there and truly develop it's own voice. People should hear "GI Joe" and think quality and playability. I'd like to see an updated (truly updated) Night Raven and Terror Drome. But a Night Raven without a crappy handle and "reload" action. I'd love to have 30th-respectable Cobra bots like we saw in the cartoon. I always wanted that big cobra-headed white robot that fought the temple statue when they were after the parts for the MASS device. A new Zartan and swamp skier that changes color in the sun again. Not sure they can't use the old formulation. I have three of them to this day that still work perfectly. Makes me wonder if there's a banned/regulated chemical that was used that they can't use anymore. ...oh wait. Where am I? Was I lost in a dream again? <sigh> Last edited by jwmagick; 07-27-2012 at 03:53 PM.. |

Yeah the POC wave 3 Snake Eyes was brilliant. It might be my favorite of the ME figures. It would be great if Hasbro could do more of that. Getting a vehicle assortment would be hard because of cost/sales numbers. Like jwmagick said, they would have to do something woth marketing and brand recognition to move some units. I think that was the plan with the movies but we will see how that goes in March.

They could easily save money by doing less figures and less vehicles...I can think of endless ones that we could have done without.
