Everyone seems to have their own opinion of what the ideal trooper is for them. I've heard the latest one, or the first one, or the flint head on the latest one...
Well, why doesn't hasbro release a coloured blue body, with some sort of sticker or quick paint application for the sigil(s) and put multiple heads (with different colour facemasks) and a few weapons (knife, AK-47, sniper rifle) in there and call it a real troop builder? Charge a dollar or two more (hey, if they can put a playschool skooter in with Zartan it might even be the same $$) and boom, I think that might be a seller. |

NOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo ooo!
You think figure swapping is an issue now? You think repaints and redecos and re-releases are bad now? Imagine having to buy Tigerforce Duke, Listen and fun Tripwire AND Tiger Force Tripwire AND another CC with slight or no variation AND, say, another single-carded ass ugly Dreadnok in order to build this trooper. Because that's exactly what we'd be staring down the barrel of. And people would want to army build it, which means any time you post a trade list people will be all, "Oh, I have 14 plaid Zartans (w/out BAF piece) would you like those?" And then I have to kill them.

Well, first off, what you're suggesting is more of a "here's a box full of parts, good luck!" than a build-a-figure series.
Build a figure series are a terrible idea. You know why you have to build a droid to get it? So that you have to buy all those other figures that wouldn't sell on their own. It's just a way to make you buy a case's worth of figures to get the one you really want. What you seem to be getting at really isn't much more than what people are already doing with the existing pieces and some model paint... So, why does Hasbro need to become proactive? Wait does proactive fit... yeah sure, why not. Last edited by Hicks_Royel; 11-20-2008 at 10:47 PM.. |

How about just smashed BAT parts/limbs ?
You can have them lying around your loose display for a cool aftermath effect

i would hate to have to buy a bunch of crap to get another piece of crap. Did that with doc. A box full of parts would kick ass for custom fodder and making your own figure and what not. Thats really not too bad of an idea.

Now, I might buy a box of BAT bits. A ten dollar set of assorted mangled limbs, heads and torsos. So long as there were at least two or three distinct casting between the damaged pieces.
"Wow, someone really hated the left "eye" on these BATs. Shot every one of them out here the same way..." |

Uhhh.... PASS !!!!!!!!!!
Don't want it....... makes me buy crap that I normally wouldn't just to complete the set. Also makes a-holes swap/steal figures/parts and leaves the leftovers at the stores. |
