Don't under estimate the power of a shotgun! My uncle told me that while he was in the Nam that the lead or point man had that so he could spray the crap out of anything in front of them. They have also made new automatic shotguns that can fire explosive rounds (saw that on the modern weapons). They also would take the standard grenade launcher and fill it with sharp blades which was nasty

But the problem with shotguns are the range. Thats why now a days in the military they are reserved for breaching/MOUT pretty much.
I left my flint with his shotgun, just cause he wouldnt feel right without it, but Im giving Falcon an M16 cause he doesnt seem like he will be breaching buildings or doing house to house combat anytime soon. His uniform and pack suggest that he will be out in the wilderness somewhere, so I can only picture him with an assault rifle. Also, I've always wanted Flint to have an M16a1 like in some of the comics, but its so hard to find any, and marauder doesn't make one yet, and the only other place to get it is the v1 1982 grunt figure, and I've had no luck finding JUST grunts weapon for a reasonable price (aka under 5 dollars, cause thats just crazy for a single little machine gun).

The ones I open and my custom fig's, usuall have their weapons replaced with MJ weapons, but I do keep the originals. Hasbro is getting a little better with their weapons, but MJ guns are always in my figure's armory.

I like to replace the weapons, but keep with Hasbro's theme for the figure, i.e. Flint gets the M4 w/ Shotgun attachment underneath, Roadblock gets a mini-gun, Rock 'n' Roll gets an M-60A3, etc. Standard issue (secondary) weapon for Joes is the M4, Cobras get AK-47. No doubt that Marauder is great for all those!

My one complaint about Marauder is that none of the guns have straps. I'd love a strap for the gun I give Bazooka so he can sling it over his shoulder when he uses the rocket launcher.

I'm just arming everyone with all the CC guns that I have. Oh, and the Duke or Destro sidearms.
But I'm still wondering why do you give a Desert CG an old school rifle? |

I have so many Marauders, Laser Rifles and Uzi's from the DVD packs and TRU exclusives, I just gave em' out to Bazooka, Tripwire, Steeler and Clutch. Also, Breaker looks good with 83' Duke's Submachine Gun. Also I have a ton of 85' footloose M-16's one which I gave to Grunt.

All weapon replacements in my ranks are from Marauder. His M1911A1 is rapidly becoming the standard side arm for my Joes, especially if they come with that stupidly oversized .45 like Duke came with. My blueshirt Cobra has a UMP, and Wild Bill's revolvers were replaced with Marauder's Peacemakers. DVD pack Roadblock has traded his knife for an M60E3.
I'm planning to get a G36C for Beach Head with my next order, and probably a better Uzi and sword for Snake Eyes. I also plan to replace caped Cobra Commander's yellow dart gun with a Luger. |
