Has anyone else been screwed by the street date? So I called my local Target; store operator said they had two hiss tanks in stock, and someone from toys would be glad to get one for me. 20 min drive later, get to the store, ask a dude, and he said the dreaded "street date" phrase. So, should we organize and petition hasbro about these lame ass street dates? They should at least give an explanation, I think. All I wanted was a damn hiss tank, that's not even for me. Lame.

You were not screwed buy the street date you were trying to work around a street date that you knew existed and failed.
In 2 weeks these will be everywhere. The explanation is that they want their product to be on shelves that day so they can advertise it as such. |

You think so? There's stores not abiding by the street date, so what's the point in even having them? That's what I have an issue with. Wasn't working around the date at all; all I did was ask and one employee was cool with it when another wasn't.

Yeah, really you just screwed yourself. You had to know about the street date, it's common knowledge. You gave it a shot and lost about an hour of your time. I don't blame you for trying, but you've really got no right to to be bent about it.

^This^ It is worth the gamble, but don't make some employee's life miserable for following the rules if it doesn't pan out.

I personally think the street date would be a good idea if all stores abided by it, or if there was a toy that maybe spoiled something from the movie. But honestly, we've all seen the figures months ago, and it really seems pointless to me that they are being so strict about them. They should be thankful anyone wants to buy $10 figures with no stands, no file cards, no card art, and giant neon rocket launchers. Especially given that, a couple of months from now they practically won't be able to give them away.

i think the steet date is a bad idea, because it lets everyone know when an item is hitting, thus allowing 1 person to hit everystore and cleaning off the good stuff.according to if you just randomly find something
