Personally i think the line got pretty bad after 1987. Dont think (though not positive) i would buy any after then...(although the collector in me wants to "collect them all") The new additions such as the para-trooper and baz. trooper dont need a backstory. But all new "personalities" would or they would be foriegn sitting next to my favorites. Hell..hasbro could probably put a power ranger in a gi joe package and somebody would buy it.

I like what they are doing for the most part releasing a few every so often with the RAH lines. The new blood would really cool if they develop them and include them in the upcoming comics to be released soon.

Well, I've made my opinion on this matter known in a lot of threads... especially the one I started about the need for representation from other Service Branches. Heck, I started the thread.
I think we need NEW characters with a more realistic military feel. I have often stated the need for more Marines (Force Recon would be GREAT) and especially the need for an Officer from the Marine Corps. I also think we need some guys from the Air Force Spec Ops teams: PJ's and Combat Controllers would be obvious choices for G.I. Joe. Coast Guard Rescue Swimmers would be excellent. It would give us swimmer/divers without having to put every SEAL in a wet suit (I think my friend Troynos will agree with me). I would also very much like to see some International Special Operations Forces represented. I know G.I. Joe is American, but we already have Big Ben (British SAS), Sky Mate (Australian SAS), Big Bear (Russian Airborne), Red Star (Russian Naval Infantry), and a lot of guys from the October Guard. I would love to see some British Royal Marine Commandos and British SBS. I would really, really love to see the British SRR. I would love some German GSG-9 soldiers, and some Mossad guys, and some Canadian Special Forces, or maybe even a Mountie if he could be dressed tactically. I would really like to see some more Law Enforcement: Texas Rangers, F.B.I., Secret Service, etc. And I would really, really (please Hasbro, please) love to see a serious attempt at some Intelligence Operatives. C.I.A. would be great, but even better would be the D.I.A. (Defense Intelligence Agency), or the ISA (U.S. Army Intelligence Support Activity). I would love to see MI-6 and the S.R.R. As many of you know, I'm a staunch defender/supporter/fan of Chuckles. I've always loved the Hawaiian shirt because it makes me think of Magnum, P.I. However, I would love it if they took a serious attempt a Chuckles and Agent Faces and Mace and some of the other Intelligence agents in the Joe Team... but we need new characters... Action Man was a nice attempt, but let's get serious. Intelligence would be ESSENTIAL to the Joe Team. Finally, I would love to see another TRU exclusive updated 6-pack: Sky Patrol (like they did a few years ago with Tiger Force and Night Force). If they would make those guys in realistic uniforms, they could be one of the best Special Teams G.I. Joe has. If they added new characters from the different service branches... even better. For Example: New Sky Patrol Team Leader: U.S. Army Airborne Ranger (LRS) Captain. Recon/Sniper: U.S. Marine Corps Force Recon Sniper (E-7) Medic/Rigger: U.S. Air Force Para Rescue (PJ) (E-5) Demolitions: U.S. Navy SEAL (in Camo, not a wet suit, but with a lot of amphibious equipment.) (E-7) Heavy Machine Gunner: U.S. Army Special Forces Weapons Sgt. (18B) (E-6) Communications: U.S. Air Force Combat Controller (E-5) ... and wouldn't it be great if they would make a NEW air craft for them like a Marine Osprey with Guns on it. A man can dream.

I think it would be great to have some new additions that we've never seen before. new code-names, new looks.... the 25th ann. is past, let's open the stories and figures up to things that weren't done 20+ yrs ago.

There's so many possibilities for Hasbro to make 5 or 7 packs for Joes.
An international Joe 7-pack? How cool would that be. Big Ben, Big Bear, Skymate, Red Star and 3 new characters? Air Force Special Forces 5-pack? Navy Special Forces 5-pack? Homeland Security 5-pack? Shockwave (or Wide Scope), Cutter and 3 new figures.

I still think they have plenty to work with until they start running out of more "classic" figures... In a year or 2, once the initial run is gone, sure, new guys would be welcome. But despite being a "Modern Era" line, it's still quite a 25th Anniversary line that just overgrew it's anniversary year's boundaries...
They'd be smart to keep things more in line with Wraith, Para-Viper and Bazooka Trooper than start shoehorning in crap like Matt Trakker from other lines. I think "new Joes" like the Greenshirts were welcome, they need to be smart about mold use though. And stop with the Duke arms, seriously. |

BTW, I think a 1-off set would be a nice introduction of "new Joes" like your Next Thirteen idea, PoF&T. "New Recruits" if you will. |

How about another/new Mega Marines?
Use some of the Marines on the current roster with updated uniforms. Blast Off, for example, could be good if his costume wasn't so crazy. Add in some new Marines (yes, I'm hoping for an Officer). Mega Marines could be a great 5-7 pack of figures. A great Amphibious assault force. What about a 5-7 pack of the sub-group that never was: Battle Rangers. I think Flint was supposed to lead that group. That was the best idea of a Sub-Group they ever had. I think Footloose was supposed to be in that group as well - which means he would have been Ranger qualified... Alas, poor Footloose, you may never be a Ranger. If they could do it now, with really realistic camo and accessories, that would be fantastic. They could use some original molds. Flint and Footloose were some of the best looking figures they ever made. I would love Low-Light to be on that team. The Ranger Regiment wears Khaki berets, that could work for some of them... may be this roster: Rapid Fire (Finally fix his costume and give him a uniform!): C-O Muskrat Repeater Free Fall Recoil Hit & Run Side Track Those are all Rangers who haven't done anything in a long time. And who wouldn't want to see a better version of Rapid Fire with nice, new editions of some of our favorite Rangers?
