This is so ridiculous... the EELs with "weapon variant 1/2" it's Doc all over again. the "1" and "2" are just casting identifiers. It's not a variant, for jimminie's sake! This sort of thing boils my bile!

It's gotta be more noticable imop to be a "varaint" to me like a totally silvered card with a clear figure and there is a limited quantitiy of only 140 in circulation, or a variant lets say like the new cobra Flint were he has 3 very distcint Cobra head replacements one with a red mask, one black and one blue or something like that (ala Black timber). A manufacturers label you need a microscope to read is hardly a variant I would give you $0.01 for!

That makes 75 out of the 80 figures I've had graded from factory sealed cases scored 90 or better while the other five were 85s. It's not that uncommon to get high grades from factory cases. Now if these were not "uncirculated" figures on HTS, then I would be concerned about the situation.

If HTS never had these in stock, then they put the figures up because they have contacted AFA and were informed on what grades they received.

Hasbro has always said they listen to what the fans say and read the message boards, and this "Variant" issue can be completely attributed to those collectors who are after every Viper and Doc gun "variant". I don't blame Hasbro, I'd do the same thing if I were them. To me, that whole thing is dumb, but that's just me...

Yeah to the guy who thought it was silly that Hasbro would have high grades. OBVIOUSLY they're gonna have mint or near mint figures. They're getting them first and they handled them well.

I think this is an actual Variant. If you look at the Official Hasbro Stock Photo it shows what may be the Variant. If you look at the gun it appears to have a "Snap-on" feature to allow the weapon to attach to the figure -- Could be the Back-pack.
I have this figure in my hands and mine is not the same as the one shown in this stock photo. This is not official and is my personal opinion. The stock photo could be a mock up and if that's the case all bets are off. Here take a look for yourself.....

I've always supported AFA and have sent a case or two, as well as carded figures to get graded. They have always been good to me. However, this is ridiculous! 9.25!??!! Come on! Absoutely a ploy to make more money ad give HTS more of a reason to hock ul the price on these! Best bet is to get your own cases and send them in to get graded, if you're looking for this.

I don't like AFA at all because it's way too expensive imo.
For the collectors that want AFA I guess this is the best way to get them in a very high grade. As long as Hasbro doesn't go crazy on the grading and leaves enough cases for the normal collectors, I'm ok with it. |
