My local Walmart has not had any GI Joe figures in months it seems. We get Vehicles in every now and then. Finally I got tired of going in and out empty handed everyday and said something to the Receiving Supervisor. He scanned the SKU and told me that the GI Joe line is now listed as INACTIVE and they will not be receiving anymore figures and are unable to order them if they wanted to. He did tell me they had a pending orders with Hasbro for the next line "Retaliation" and it was the reason they were still keeping the area in the toy section designated for GI Joe pegs and shelfspace clear and that they would be coming out in the next few months.
I guess we all knew the end of the road for the 30th line was coming. This should be taken as the official word. Also my Target has had a order opened to fill the GI Joe pegs and has received no stock in over 2 months either. The stores lucky enough to get any of the last wave should consider themselves lucky. Considering that Hasbro released a Wave of Generations figures (Junkheap / Sky Shadow ) in December for Transformers and those were quickly clearanced out at Walmart and Target last month. Toy lines / waves are not lasting long at retail these days and rarely do the later waves show up or we get a restock it seems. Last edited by CobraScream; 03-20-2012 at 03:29 PM.. |

Wow, end of the road. I'm gonna miss the line and look forward to the movie figures.

Gonna be hard to miss something I hardly ever saw in the first place. It's worsened by the fact that Retaliation is underwhelming by POC/30th standards.
I'll be getting a few Retalaiation figures, but it actually looks like ROC will end up having more clout on my wallet than Retaliation.

considering plenty of other areas are receiving product at both Wal Mart and Target I am going to not take this as official word.
obviously we already know that there is no new product beyond what has already been released, it was just a matter of when they would stop being stocked at stores. and your stores plan to keep their shelves clear for Retaliation this far out in no way equates to an official word that retailers aren't stocking them overall considering they continue to do so. |

No figures. Nothing. What I found was a bunch of POC Duke at one Walmart. Outside of that no figures. I did find some Lifeline/Sci Fi Waves at these same stores last month and nothing since then. |

Did the manager also talk into his special wrist-watch radio to get confirmation from head office?
It's not that I don't believe YOU. I just don't believe the manager, as 99% of the time Walmart employees will just tell you whatever they think will make you go away so they can get back to flirting with customers and doing as little as possible.

I think its a good sign your walmart is actually on the ball. I wonder when they set that flag in your system. It could have been why the pegs have been so devoid at a lot of walmarts, they just turn on the INACTIVE FLAG and you save yourself a good amount of shelf warming clearence items. I think what the stores that are seeing any of this is stuff that was backlogged or lost in the wharehouse and they just started putting it out to get invntory corrected since they will need the shelf space for the coming movie line. In either case we all know that hasbro has not been making more of these waves since last year. This is all stock that should have been out when it was supposed to be....christams 2011...

Well I hit about 20 Targets and Walmarts in my area and found NOTHING. No GI Joe stuff except VTOL and Crimson Hiss Tanks at SOME Walmarts and Sky Strikers at all of the Targets.

I did find some Lifeline/Sci Fi Waves at these same stores last month and nothing since then. if they order from the distribution centers, if the product can no longer be ordered that would mean that either they don't have any more stock at all at the distribution centers to ship, thus nobody should find any more restocks at Wal Mart going forward, or Wal Mart has stock but doesn't want to ship them to stores that want it, which would not make any sense. but people are still finding them at Wal Mart. of course these could have been ordered prior to the inactive status, but nothing about the situation can be stated to be an official indicator of the end of the line at Wal Mart just yet. obviously this would only apply to Wal Mart and nobody can reasonably apply it to any other retailer, especially considering the fact that Targets are clearly still receiving them. |

I have started to see alot of DOTM and Star Wars Clone Wars stuff show up at Ross / TJ Maxx lately. Some of this stuff is Walmart exclusive stuff that is still in stores selling for double the price. Some of the DOTM stuff is in TRI Lingual packaging meaning it came from our friends up North in Canada. It will not be long before some POC / 30th figures find their way into Discount Hell. |
