This is no different than the end of 25th, or even RoC:
Retailers ordered a bunch right before Christmas, and are simply selling through their existing inventory rather than get new product right before a big brand change over. Each area will move through inventory at different rates, but so long as there is product in the distribution centers, stores will still get product. Mine had a handful of 25th figures right up to the release of RoC, while others had been cleared out for months. The line is no more "cancelled" now, than it was 3 months ago when the last wave was released. It is also not "officially the end" since the same thing has happened before, is happening to other lines RIGHT NOW, and will happen again as the next batches of toys hit market.

With Retaliation coming, they want to clear the shelves for the next big push.

Hasbro even said early on that the 30th would not be on the shelves with the film toys. And since those samples showing up on ebay from China seem to have rubber bands on the guns... we might be looking at one of those surprise early launches at retail despite the late May release projection.

Some people seem to talk like the Retaliation figures are going to be the absolute end of the line. Like it's going to just totally disappear after that. Just wait. Go enjoy the summer. When you come back here later in the fall, there will be tons of pictures of whatever line follows Retaliation. The figures have gotten better every single year for the last decade.

Also, if the plan works and Retaliation is huge with the kids, they'll again start adding articulation and such back into the figures, since they'll be selling more.
