I have a Slaughter and a Zarana, but have no intentions of purchasing more or opening them, but want them for a display. I also really dislike 'modern Monkey Wrench' and don't fancy the idea of paying some 30 for him and TunnelRat+Postage.
Does it look too 'off' mixing two eras, separated by some 22 years and construction style? Or should I just leave my Marauders MISB, 'pretend' Zanya replaced Zarana and Burnout replaced Monkeywrench. I don't know what I'd do with ol' Monkeywrench, but I would be putting Slaughter and Zarana in vehicles. Thanks for any input. |

They look fine as long as you don't put a vintage figure with an oversized head (like Wild Bill) side by side with a modern figure with a tiny head (like Wild Bill).
I like to mix eras, especially with Cobra troops. The different styles make them look more like individuals instead of clones. |

I don't mix vintage with modern, but I do mix modern o-ring (1997 and up) with modern era.

I don't mix. That being said it's your collection. Do what makes you happy. Set it up with what you have now and see if you like it, take a few pictures, leave it up for a week, see if you still like it after a week. If your happy leave it as is. If it starts to bother you then look to make a change.
