Still I think it's a bit unfair to call the shift from sigma to 25th an articulation reduction, scale reduction is more accurate. |

Of course the modern figures have double jointed knees and articulated wrists and elbows which kind of balance it out. |

I love you no more, Zed. When next we meet, it will be on the battlefield!
Here's the thing: people have a rigid idea of what Joe is supposed to be, which silly in light of the fact that it was 12 inches AND 8 inches before it was ever 3.75 inches, but whatever, no harm done. But at the end of the day, Sigma 6 were just great friggin' TOYS, man. Also, post some more reviews. |

"It's rare that the range of motion of the elbows, shoulders, hips and waist of modern figures can match the classics."
True. I miss some of the articulation (and all the ease of customizing) of the vintage figures. |

So no in my defence it isn't what joe is supposed to be, it's what scale I prefer. Still I do think the general hate of Sigma might have been lessened if Hasbro had presented it differently, at the time it came accross like a slap to the face of long time fans, and I do know of fans that basicly abandoned GI Joe just because of the way it was handled. That's just an observation. Oh but on the reviews, I just posted two one for Guardians of the Galaxy set and one for the new Avengers Ultimate Thor and Hawkeye. |

Zartan looks amazing. Can't wait for him. But seriously Sideshow is incredible. The Troopers are ok but feel outdated. Cobra Commander is nice but just doesn't have many accessories. I'm not sure which Sideshow figures you've checked out but the must haves (for me) are Beachhead, Dusty, Firefly and Viper. All of these figures are insanely detailed and come with the best accessories imaginable. The clips are actually interchangeable and have details of bullets inside them. The rifles have different scopes. The Viper even has scuffs on his helmet and mud on his boots. The biggest problem with Sideshow is the price point is insanely high. Not that they aren't worth it. But it's hard to shell out 100-150+ for a figure.

I can't believe Joe fans wouldn't endure most anything after Valor vs. Venom and the like. Quote:
What bugs me about the price is that just ten years ago Sideshow Buffy was $40. And I believe CC was $100 or so... is it just that they see Hot Toys charging so much, so they think they can get away with it? |

I think for the majority of figures the ME guys have more useful articulation then the Sigma Six guys. Yeah, there were some Sigma figures that had really good articulation, but most of them had very little range of motion on their knees and elbows.
Which kind of brings me to my main issue with Sigma Six, which incidentally isn't anything that was really S6's fault. The problem was that they came out right as Marvel Legends was at it's peak, and what I wanted was a line of highly articulated 6" Joes, but instead I got 8" Joes that didn't have anywhere near the articulation of the ML's I was collecting. Because of that, Sigma always felt like a missed opportunity to me, and I could just never really get into it. |

I can understand that, Xenos. For my part, I never liked Marvel Legends articulation; it broke up the sculpts too much (particularly on female figures), and left too many figures wobbly.

Well we have.. 25th/ME. Only used caused the figures that were being put out after 25th were same style sculpt, but were no longer considered 25th.., Then we have ROC... POC... 30th.. and New Sculpt. (hard to come up with a short version of G.I.Joe Retaliation.. unless we just want to call them RET or Reta.) Or something else.. like SUK. LOL
