Open thread to Hasbro about what you want the Crimson Guard to be. Take it for what its worth guys, at least it is an interesting topic for discussion.
I think we all see this is a potential BIG seller if Hasbro does it right. It could be a problem for the Brand/line if it is fouled up. What we saw looks like a kinda rough start and it looks like it has some good details already. What opinions do you have about what accessories it should have or is details etc? What will make you purchase it? What would make you skip it? What other ideas do you have about this character/mold? if you have any other links or pics that show more details please post them here.

The Crimson Guard figure will be a big seller to the collector crowd no matter what they do.
If they knock it out of the park, figure-wise, then it will sell for $14.99 at all the specialty stores and be sold out 3.14 minutes after the pre-orders are announced, all the figures that make it to retail will be snatched up by retail employees and sold on eBay, and much bitching will ensue. If they go conservative, basically as it is now, it will still sell well, probably retail about what the 30th Viper goes for ($11.99?) and will make sporadic showings at retail, some people will hoard them, some bitching will ensue. If they really slack off, think more 25th than what was shown at ToyFair2012, the collectors will STILL army build the damn thing, create an aftermarket, and, you guessed it, bitch about how "they" would have made it better and made it a better "seller for Hasbro!". In the end I really don't think it matters, I'd like to see it be more like a mix between the 30th Trooper and something Red. Maybe more emphasis on the ceremonial stuff? But that'd be at the expense of anything tactical.. but then again, the damn figure is red, not very tactical. In the (real) end, just make sure he's not wearing skinny jeans like the 25th version and I'll buy one. Just one, everyone gets one.

ithe pic we saw looks very underpainted right now.
i hope they go ahead an splurge on the paint applications knowing that THIS ONE is targeted to collectors and we will buy the hell out of it to army build if we like it enough. it kinda looks like they tried to get the helmet to resemble sideshows crimson guard. i think this guy of course has to come with a bayonette and it looks like he also has a sword on his back. (i cant find that photo but i know i saw it.) they need to work to make the red colors on the figure to match right. something about that hoh CG didnt look right. i think it was the backpack that was the wrong shade of crimson.

for reference... I'm looking for 2 black CG backpacks (i think they are from a weapons pack) for these 2 Shadow Guards if anyone has some to deal. that's why i think this figure could either be epic win or epic fail. if its not A LOT better than the 25th versions collectors might stay away and they will miss a golden opportunity to strengthen the brand through a collector targeted awesome army builder.

But you see it's not collector aimed. They gave a Five pack, A single pack, A comic Pack, and a Single pack of the comic pack with a brighter red backpack. We don't need any more Crimson Guards cause well if you wanted them you would have them. I have 8-10 of them. 11 Alley Vipers, 16 Vipers, And 20+ Blue Shirts. Give me something new. I have 2 Jungle Vipers to operate as a team. I am more excited to have a complete and utter ability to create a whole new ninja branch.

many parts of the line will be aimed at kids, but i think these two figures in particular are aimed at adult collectors. i think it would be the best strategy for them as well and it is what i would advise if i were employed by hasbro at the moment, thinking outside the box. they should be learning what works as they experiment here in the post ROC world and they learned they could redo trooper and viper in 30th quality and they would be successful sellers. i think that is EXACTLY what they are doing with the new CG, whereas the night viper fills the role of techno-viper.

also i really wouldn't want shadow guards in a new mold without a new mold CG first. otherwise just paint the 25th molds black for shadow guards and call it a day.
