I'm only collecting a handful of 25th... don't want to recreate my current 80's collection with 25th.
Get 'em if you like 'em. Buy one, and if you don't like it, you're done. If you do like it... it's only begun. |

Nearly all of my old Joes from childhood were stolen and its really bothered me for a long time. I thought about buying some classics on Ebay to fill the void but just kept putting it off. When these came out last year it feeled that void nicely and I no longer stress over rebuilding a nearly lost collection.
They aren't perfect but when you see one next to its 20+ year old counterpart you can't help but admire them It really comes down to what you want more the ARAH classics or the new. Think about which will make you happiest in the long run and whether completing your old collection or starting a new one is more important right now. |

i continue to buy vintage and the modern era, it will never end for me. i am building a giant plastic army and no one shall stop me. if your in it for future values and an investment fine, part of me is, but most of me is for the love of it and the joy it brings me. collecting outta of passion is more fullfilling than collecting for profit.

Some people say that collect they would only buy the older figures ,so not all joe collectors would want to buy the newer versions ,the same could apply to Star wars ,Transformers ,Masters of the universe etc ?
As i mentioned the sculpting is great and true to the original line ,i'm not crazy about a few of them but like you said it's all about choice ? I just wanted to hear some feedback from collectors that's all ? This is true, but he's pretty much pointing out the almost universal support for the new line among members of this board. I've noticed a few people express displeasure over the way the line has been handled, but I'd still say the line is widely collected in these parts. Whether or not this line is worth collecting is kinda up to you. For me personally, I haven't been this energized about a toy line in a long time. I've pretty much suspended collecting other lines for the time being to focus on modern Era GI Joe figures do in part to nostalgia and quite frankly the general "awesomeness" of these action figures. |

I also saw a boxed set that included figures from the 1983 animated mini series ,with the Baroness wearing a red squba suit i thought this was a nice touch because i never thought they would make a figure from that cartoon ?
I think i might eventually break down and start collecting the new ones ,i think after i buy the first few the ball will start rolling . I disagree and agree about the new Star Wars ,for example the POTF 2 line (1995-2000) was horrible ,but the Saga line and 30 anniversay line and most made from 2003 and up has improved a great deal ! |

I think they are worth it. I want my son to experience what i got to experience growing up. I know it won't be the same, like running home after school to watch GI Joe and Thundercats, but he will be able to collect the toys and watch the episodes on dvd whenever he wants...Thanks Hasbro for giving us this father/son hobby...
