I am giving up the 25th / Modern Era collection and returning to ARAH. I am feeling overwhelmed by the amount of product being released (looking into the next few months). If it was truly great product, I might try going all the way with this line to its end. But all I see on the horizon is repaints and more recycled characters. I don't need 30+ versions of Duke and Cobra Commander. If memory serves me correctly, that is what killed the He-Man reboot.
I have decided to sell off my 25th collection. I am doing it by wave. Considering what some of these pieces go for, I can get some really nice MISB/MOSC vintage items from the 80's. Am I the only one doing this?

I am also out. There is so much stuff out now and coming soon that I cannot see my wallet always being on empty. They started out perfect, but now are trying to end their own line. HASBRO, you just have no clue.

The problem with my collection is space. I've got too much vintage and modern MOC/MISB.

I do think they are releasing too much at once. Star wars, Transformers, GI Joe, sheesh. Piles and piles of toys.
I think an 8 figure wave every 3 months would be awesome. |

I agree that perhaps more than 50 % of the upcoming figs are repaints but that won't stop me from sticking around.
You could be selective in your future purchases and only get what you really need. Of course I say that but I feel the need to get everything (singles figs). And you really cannot turn your face on the vehicles and how affordable they are vice the vintage stuff. I know that Hbro is pumping the product without a break but I kind of like that.

In all reality, the amount of Duke, Snake Eyes, Cobra Commander and Storm Shadow figure releases are VASTLY overrated by fans. Yes, they are plentiful, but no more so than Obiwan, Anakin, Vader, Luke, Boba Fett, or Yoda are in Star Wars, which has been following the same basic retail formula for the better part of 5 years now. What killed the He-Man reboot wasn't the number of He-Man/Skeletor figures, it was the shipping of those figures INSTEAD of anyone else. Aside from the first wave Snake Eyes (which, if you notice, isn't available and actually commands a healthy premium online), VERY few cases have had any figure outside of troop builders shipped more than 1 per case. In my view, if a fan feels that the current release schedule is "too much product", then they might as well stop buying modern toys. Period. Or slim down on what to buy. For all the product GI Joe is seeing right now, it doesn't even come CLOSE to the volume being produced for Star Wars and Transformers, and as the line continues to remain popular, it will only see more and more product. And the situation has arison that some fans (like myself) can no longer be completionists. I know a LOT of Star Wars fans that had to give that up years ago due to the volume being released in THAT line.

I'm sticking around for the new stuff for a little while longer. Depends on if I have the space and cash. I like the 25th stuff more then the RAH but not as much as the Modern Bodies stuff.
