This might be a stretch, but what if a factory worker produced a case at the factory to take from the factory to sell on the aftermarket, the machine would be set up to stamp the most recent date from when they were made. Half the people who buy these don't even know what the stamp means anyways.
I mean making these would be like printing money to sell on the aftermarket I don't know how hard this would be for a worker to do, but I can see someone wanting to try to do it. Even if you sold each figure for 200.00 each thats 1,600.00 dollars he just made. We know workers take stuff to sell already so maybe it just happened on a larger scale. This is just me trying to make sense of why Hasbro would make these exclusives again. Last edited by SNAKE EYES; 08-13-2008 at 03:32 AM.. |

I checked out my latest buys and here is what I have to report as far as date stamps: SDCC Black Suits (81401 & 81361) SDCC Blue Suits (81361) Combat Heroes (81431) Wave 9 (81562) None are them are even close to the (81921) that the Gold PDD has. If the "Hasbro guy" really works for Hasbro its very much possible that he would get stuff first than any of us. I believe Hasbro is going to make a second run of Gold PDDs soon and then, and only then, will you guys thank me, Mr. G for making such a great observation. |

One more comment b4 I sleep:
If this was indeed a rerun, shouldn't we see ebay flooded with these puppies? I don't see many sellers? |

Nice. If the info on the stamp is true that really kills the value of the figure and the thrill of having an item that isn't produced anymore. It would be nice to get one cheap but if I payed the current price for one and then it released again, I would not be stoked. So might as well wait until next year to get blue suit commander again. Saves me at least 100 dollars.

many of us just enjoy collecting, regardless of how much value it generates. To many of us, it's a hobby for fun rather than some sort of investment. |
