Im not sure if this has been brought up before, it very well may have been. But here it goes anyway!
With the loyalty a lot of us have for the Joe toy line. wouldn't it just make sense for the Tank to have an account with Hasbro to supply us with our fix? What are the costs involved? Minimum orders? etc. Anybody have any idea? Just think! no driving around endlessly searching for the wave of figs or vehicles anymore. Preorder/Purchase it right here. helk we all spend enough time in this forum as it is. Lets turn the tank into a For Profit Forum. even if it means charging a membership fee to join and gain access to the store, which may be partially refunded on your first purchase????? what do you guys think?

Now I'm sure the many communists on the boards like the idea of a cooperative, but I don't think we could move the peg warmers.

i think...without awesome dreams to spark something, nothing will come to fruition. that said, awesome dreams are super hard to wrangle.

Ugh...I'm not sure this would work well...people would be complaining about prices and so forth.
And while I'll leave names out I know of at least one board that tried a store and things ended...poorly...I'm not saying that would happen here, but the thought is every single site selling stuff ends up having some sort of bad feelings with someone...justified or not. There are several sites I've bought from and have had NOTHING but great service, and yet others...swear those sites are run by the devil. I like the idea, but honestly its a pandora's box of problems and bad feelings. Plus honestly isn't there plenty of sites out there already that sell Joes? The Tank is a community not a store. This of course is just MY personal opinion. |

When I worked for Pepsi Bottling, Walmart would get a case of 20oz soda from us for about $18, per case, and sold through about 10 cases a day. Walmart had Pepsi deliverys every day.
Mom and Pops convenience store down the road and around the corner got the same case for about $22. Walmart got it cheaper because they sold more individual 20oz bottles a day, and ordered more per week, than the locally owned convenience store sold a month. Because of the amount of sales, they got a better price from us, the distributor. BBTS has the GI Joe series 4 case for $44.99. The six figures include:
That's roughly $7.50 per figure. That's not including the cost of shipping and handling of the case. Because BBTS moves a larger number of figures, they would get a better price per case, than we at Hisstank.com would get. And you'd also have to figure in the cost of who is going to order, sort and ship the individual figures to the buyers. And what about packaging and shipping and handling. I wouldn't do it for free. Nobody else would either. Ninja gots to get paid. So now we're looking at probably $8-10 per figure. And what about the shit figure from every wave. Not everybody wants mulitple Arctic Destro's or Croc Masters. So because they'd have to be sold at a lower price, the popular figure's price would have to be raised to offset the cost. Plus you have the guys who say they'd buy enough Super-Duper-Vipers to build multiple squads, then not follow through with it. The theory sounds good on paper, but it wouldn't work out in the end. |

Sure, go ahead, what's one more scalper added to the mix? Everybody already loves the collector club & BBTS. So why not? $20 army builders + jacked up shipping for everybody!
As for me, they're not that hard to find, I'll take my chances at Walmart, TRU & Target. |

Ha this is the 3rd thread for this topic so it has been thought of but...who is going to put down all that money(5 digits ) only to be left with 100's(1000's???) of unwanted figures ?
And with people complaining figures cost $(enter any amount over 5 bucks)... Nope.

Same thing happened on my board. We've tried something new a second time around: Asphalt has a section on ST6 that he can post upcoming product and link it to his site, but the store thing failed and failed hard. |
