Maybe he is a 70 year old collector. Not every old guy at the store buying toys is a scalper. I agree with some of you that in retail its first come, first served, right?

Why does he have to be a scalper? Is it not just as likely that he's just a dirty old man who uses toys instead of ice cream to steal the innocence of children? Hmm. Well, while he has every right to grab all the figures he wants via the "survival of the retail fittest" law we all seem to endorse, by that same law they should have set upon him like a wounded wolf that's slowing down the pack and taken his joes. I can only imagine they were fitter and stronger and therefore were more deserving of the loot.

Which is why I bring a prison shank I fashioned out of a toothbrush with me into every toy aisle I visit.

In fact, that whole epidemic of "bent cards" has really just been the aftermath of the tremendous beatdowns I hand out to other people trying to buy toys. I set up a deer stand over the toy dept. at the local wally and I just have at the shoppers with a blowgun. They fall backwards into the joes and it bends the cards up. Especially when I bag a 300 pound, greasy scalper. They fall down like elephants!!!

Just think you could have been at the store earlier had you only changed one little thing in your day. Perhaps skipped brushing your teeth, or ran a red light while driving.

I missed out on some clone wars stuff this past weekend. Saw a pallet with un opened legacy wave 2 box sitting there. Didnt know what was in it.. (hadnt been following starwars stuff as of late). decided to turn around and take a look.. only to find some dudes had grabbed it and taken out the scuba clones and gun troopers. what can you do!

I'm not the kind of guy who would have tried to take them from him. He did get there first fair and square, I'll admit that freely.

My main issue is that (from my point of view) he bought them only to scalp. For those of you on here, if a person (whatever age) gawked at the G.I. Joes you had just picked up after checking the peg himself, wouldn't you realize he was a fellow collector and at least start up a conversation? I'm not saying that you have any obligation to share what you've found, but turning away and running just indicated to me that he was a scalper, afraid of having a conversation with a real collector he couldn't rip off.

at least he didn't try to give you the figures after he bought them I'd be creeped out!
