I opened my two new H.I.S.S. tanks (black) today from ToysRus...
These are the first H.I.S.S. tanks I've ever had, with the exception of the DTC H.I.S.S. but that's a different mold than the classic. Anyway I've got a few questions. 1. The new H.I.S.S. tank comes with a tank commander (blue) and on single card we got the H.I.S.S. Tank Driver (Red). Does it make more sense for the blue one to be driving or operating the turrents? What would a higher ranked commander do? 2. How many of these do you plan on getting? 3. Does anyone know where I could buy a different number sticker for these, I really don't want a bunch of H.I.S.S. tanks with the number one. Oh and BTW I couldn't find any at Cobra Stickers. 4. Is the back platform intended to hold one or two figures? It seems it takes both pegs to hold one figure. 5. I recently read that someone had moved the tow sticker to the back where the tow actually is. What do you think makes more sense in the back (where the tow is) or in the front(where the instructions say to put it)? |

1. I'm not sure which one is the higher rank, but I just have the blue driver in the cockpit and Destro manning the guns. If I get ahold of the red carded HISS Driver, then I'll put him in the cockpit since that was the color of the vintage figure. Destro will still be manning the guns.
2. I think I'll get one more and put that new chrome-faced Cobra Commander manning the guns. This way I can recreate the face-off between CC and Destro from the episode Worlds Without End. 3. No clue, but I think the easiest solution would be to just leave the number sticker off. 4. This toy was originally designed for the smaller vintage toys, so it was intended to hold two figures on the back. 5. I put the tow sticker on the front just to kind of break up that big black empty spot between the front of the treads. |

1) It says that "Rip-It" (even though that isn't his name anymore) is a 'HISS Commander'. Guess he's the boss! But I have regular red HISS drivers driving and Cobra's in the turret. Rip-It stays at home...
)2 Maybe two - Still undecided )3 Until some stickers come along, I'm using the "001" as the battalion number as opposed to the individual tank designation. The black one is part of the "1st Command Battalion" for example, while the TRU blue version is "827th Logistics Corps". )4 I can get two troops on the back (although they look a bit vunerable so I leave them off) 5) I put the sticker on the front. I consider that a hatch which opens to reveal a some sort of rescue/lifting line.

1. HISS commanders in the turret, Drivers in the cockpit. That's the usual set up in two man tanks...commanders double as gunners.
2. Have a Blue Target one and two Black ones. Might get a couple more. The Blue one will probably be CC's personal tank...to match his upcoming Blue Flight Pod. 3. Yeah, we need different numbers. 4. Don't know what's intended, but I use two. 5. I just follow the directions |

I always figured the tow sticker on the front was detailing how to tow the HISS if it broke down, rather than towing stuff with it. Anyone else?

I actually asked them about this in an email and they said they would be providing alternate H.I.S.S. nose-numbering stickers in the future.
Alternately you could check office-supply departments for stencil-styled numerical stickers. I really need these as I have nine Target H.I.S.S. tanks and plan on getting an equal number of the regular-run black ones.... |

I've only bought one of the 001 HISS tanks. For my set up, I have red HISS drivers in my two Target exclusive tanks and one in my vintage HISS. Rip It's in charge in his tank.

Either that or there's a line in there for hoisting things up slopes, with the HISS Tank staying stationary and acting as some kind of donkey engine.
