Ugh, if I had to choose I'd rather the Joes used the YF-22 than 23. The 23 looks... well... sinister! Paint it in black and cobra blue camo and it looks perfect as a Cobra stealth fighter.

yeah good luck with that. I FINALLY got an email back from 21st about the 1:18 Huey advertised on the back of the Platoon figs at walmart. They said it's slated for a Fall release to TRU.

THAT'S going to be my new Dragonfly until I get BBi's Super Cobra.

I missed the boat on getting a Blackhawk at TRU that would have made a decent Tomahawk with a little airbrushing. I don't suppose anyone knows if it's being sold anywhere else?

Target had the Blackhawk, Pavehawk and Apache last year and went clearance. I know of a lot of people who missed out on them.

I wish I would have grabbed them, but alas, all I could get were the Abrams, APC, and Hummer. Not a total loss.

The 1/18 realistic toy industry is dry as hell, I have been following it for years and yes I too, have inquired many times about the Tomcat. The closest thing we could possibly get is a 1/32 scale version, as for 1/18, the F-4 was announced, as well as a MIG-21, B-25, et al, and you know what they are as of yet? Vaporware. Admiral toys will be releasing their Dauntless and Skyraider, I know that much, but as far as a Tomcat, no company has shown any indication that they will make one, sadly. The petroleum and shipping as well as production costs overseas have skyrocketed these past years, and no big retailer has stepped up to request, or back the production of a Tomcat, they are very reluctant because its a financial risk. The main market seems to be the online crowd with dedicated fans/collectors, however like with most hobbies we share, we seem much larger online than we actually are in reality. I can tell you a ton of people who want a 1/18 F-14 and would pay up for one(expect a minimum of $150+). However I can also tell you that it might not be enough people. If there were enough one of the companies could have made one by now. No fighter in that size class has been made in 1/18 scale, not even the Phantom. Big fighters=huge production cost. Sometimes there were hints that we might see something but with the BBI A-10 never materializing, 21st's F-4, MIG-21, and B-25 still nowhere to be seen 1 year later, and Admiral's F-4 on indefinite hiatus on account of 21st announcing theirs a day later at toyfair last year for a significantly cheaper price then that not materializing even now I think hopes are very, very slim.

funskool has the mold for the skystriker, why wont hasbro get it from them/?

You are. The only thing I can see that is feasible is a 1/32 version...which incidentally, is actually the scale the original Skystriker was made.

For all of us, our best bet is hoping Hasbro makes an all new Skystriker based on the classic design, and hopefully without the landing gear retraction linked with the sweeping wings...I want the wings to sweep forward without the gear being brought down, Ace can't dogfight with wheels down they will be ripped off!.

Do I hope this will happen? Hell yes. Will it? I hope.

What I have learned these past few years through constantly inquiring about the Skystriker online, is to be cautiously optimistic. Don't expect anything, but remain hopeful.
