Was the Funskool variant real? i've never seen one on ebay.

The Funskool one was fake. Error or variant, that is the Duke figure to sink money in. An error is a rare and little produced figure, a variant is a figure with a notable percentage of the production run.

As for the flag and it's meaning remember, these things are made by workers in a factory under what we would call harsh conditions. They make thousands of these things and probably don't even pay attention to all of them because it isn't there job to pay attention.

That figure started out with my cousin. He put it on a 24 hour the day that wave came out and sold it for $175. We have been keeping track of it and watching it bounce around ebay. Its pretty funny what people will pay for.

After all this started (yes ronnie dobbs, I'm still going to put up a pix of me with the peace sign holding the duke upside down flag soon)I called the hasbro cmpany and was given the runaround for 3 days. I just got off the phone with the right person at hasbro company, it is ineeded an error. Most of the error went into trash to be reused however some made it to the case and was sent off before an employee noticed the error which stopped the mass production and had to correct the problem. The company said that an employee put a roll of stickers sheet on the machine the wrong way thus causing the flag to be upside down. My apologies to those I "argued" with claiming its a variant but now know its an error.

I don't think I would pay more than 6 or 7 dollars for that figure. I mean, the flag is upside down, big freakin deal!!!
