this might go way back but I'm since a good majority of us are 30+ on here you might remember...I could have sworn that I had a spiderman, superman, batman and robin figures that were probably 5-6 inches tall but the costumes were soft goods that went over the body that you could take on and off...I can't find any pics of me playing with them but I know I had them...did anyone else?

if Batman's body under the costume was red plastic, then yes I remember them. I also remember going into Childern's Palacewhen I was like 8 and seeing the entire then current line of Joes. This was in 1987, but I swear I saw a Cobra Commander that was the Battle Armor version, but with Red instead of blue on the suit. then again, I have slept alot since then.

I had these toys as well... Robin, Batman, Captain America, and Spiderman... or at least my memory tells me I did.

It wasn't an item so much as a memory from a movie - I seem to remember a scene in Back to the Future Part II where Marty is playing Duck Hunt or something like it. He asks a kid for a quarter, and the kid asks "what's a quarter?"

The scene is not on the DVD, in the film itself or the extras. Maybe I'm just crazy, though I don't think I'd imagine something like that.

The toy-related memory I had wasn't actually seen but a "just missed" thing. When I was 8 or so, we used to frequently make stops to look for MASK vehicles. The most elusive of all was Shark, with Gloria Baker, which no one has been able to confirm the existence of. We went to a toy store in New Jersey that said they had them but they sold out really fast a few hours earlier. But, alas, never saw it in my hands.

The Shark with Gloria Baker was never released, although it was planned. She was eventually released with a Split Seconds vehicle which is really rare and commands a big price. Can't remember offhand the name of it though.

As for toys I remembered which apparently don't exist, well, I swear that when I was in Japan, I saw a boxed USS Flagg sitting on a shelf behind the cashier at a department store with Japanese text on it. I thought...wow! Cool! However, I don't know what it was I saw now that I've realized that it wasn't released. Maybe I dreamed it after seeing shelves of the Japanese Joe vehicles. Sadly, I wasn't able to get any of them as my mom deemed that I was too old for toys.

I had already moved on from my Joe collecting and was already heavily into video games. Years later, after I read about it and saw the going rates, now I regret not picking it up.

in july of 07 (when the 5packs came out) i swear my wife and i were in the toy aisle at a local kmart, and i remember picking up a pimp daddy destro, at that time not even knowing gijoe was being re-released, and said WTF...what happened to destro...i told another tanker this story a while back, and he said he had been released in VvV or another form, and thats what i saw.... to this day i still swear i saw that single card there...o'well, im not going to get any arguments on me being friggen crazy
