How do i open figures while preserving the card art without an x-acto blade?

I use an x-acto knife to cut the bubble free while leaving the edge of it on the card. I'm sure plenty of other people employ similar methods; I certainly didn't invent this one.

Exaco-knife. Be very careful. I sliced through my finger doing this.

I've heard of the Heat gun method, but I've never used it.

Are you in a facility that doesn't allow sharp objects?

I use a really sharp razor, the same exact blade I use for opening boxes at work. Just do it slow and be careful and always cut away from your hands or body.
