I use an x-acto knife to cut the bubble free while leaving the edge of it on the card. I'm sure plenty of other people employ similar methods; I certainly didn't invent this one.

I use a really sharp razor, the same exact blade I use for opening boxes at work. Just do it slow and be careful and always cut away from your hands or body.
