This is a great thread and, it's so true. I find myself doing the same thing. I walk into a TRU, Taget, or Wallmart and head straight to the Joe's, I don't stop for anything.

My bad sign:
If I have my kid(s) with me, I tell them, "I'm gonna win." This immediately makes them race me to the toy aisle. That way we get there faster and it makes me look like a dad who's having fun with his kids.

I'm like Jeff Gordon when it comes to making it to the toy aisle.

See...I don't really hunt anymore...honestly...I have come to the conclusion...that the security cameras in the front of the store are being watched..and when I walk in, they set off a buzzer in the back room and three employees run out of the stock room and empty the joe pegs until I leave. Tis insane I know....but I do believe they do it. :shifty lol
Seriously...my wife does a better job at hunting...and most workers at the stores are more eager to help a mother with child in tow...than a 30 year old man. "Collector-Profiling" is wrong man....tis damn wrong. lol Now, I can totally relate to that line of thought. I called my Target at 8 AM once and asked if they had stocked 'Joes, (trying to save some gas) and the lady tells me "Sorry, we don't have those in stock." I don't know why, but I didn't believe her (or I am paranoid, or both haha) So, I went anyway, and scored the whole set of wave 8, with 3 cases of full pegs. Now, I know that the toy isle is stocked before open, always, I go every single day, well, I used to. They haven't stocked them in a month, maybe it is the Target reset, but I swear, I think they are holding back on purpose. Now THAT is a good idea!

All these posts are me. From thinking every soul in Target is out to get my Joes to the conspiracy about the video cameras.
And trying not to look like a psychopath if I walk into the toy aisle, see a new shipment of Joes on the pegs, and try not knock down every man, woman, or child till I see what's on the pegs. Hi, my name's John & I'm a Joeaholic... |

I have yet to do this, but since I need Wave 9 so bad... it's tempting. Have you ever asked an employee to go to the back of the store to look for the GI JOE cases and bring them out and them tip them like $5 or so because they did this for you?? I guess it also depends on if you get that certain asshole like i got one time who said "Oh Those Figures Only Come 1 to a BOX!" I coulda slapped the taste out of his mouth because he didn't know jack about what he was re-stocking!! I guess my Wave 9 is gonna have to come from Ebay even though I have pre-orders all over the planet!!!!

For instance...Target, when the first wave of vehicles came out...I walked the store for a good 25 minutes till I found a sweet little old lady. I gave her the upc numbers...and she ran them through the machine and said they had them...she grabbed a younger girl to go in the back for them...the little old lady's exact words: "They are in two places back there...so look at the scanner to see where they are at." Now...the girl came back with one box...and I said..."Is there more? I need two sets as I have two boys I am buying these for?" Her reply: "No, that is all we have." To which I replied: "Well..I guess I'll go ask that nice older woman who isn't afraid to work...as she did say they are in two places back there, I kinda doubt that this little box was half in one area and half in the other." Just then...she looks at the hand scanner again...goes in back...and brings the other box out. Had this also happen at Ollies Bargain Outlet. The elusive wave 2 Built to Rule series was showing up there...I grabbed wave 1 a week or so earlier...and then got a tip that wave 2 was also showing up at them. I asked a younger gentlemen to look in the back for them...followed him back to the stock room door. He comes out...with a box...opens it up and says: "Are these them?" They were...and I said "Thank you so much for looking for me...yes, these are those." At that time...the asst. mgr was walking by...and started scolding the clerk for doing his job...she stated to me: "Sir, you can't buy those yet...they are not to be on the floor yet." I said.."Woah, this is Ollies...not a national chain honey." I pulled out my cellphone and asked for the regional manager's phone number while I said "I want to tell them how I am here now...with cash, and you apparently don't want me to spend it here....oh and btw, what does that say on the front wall...Rule #1 CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT...and what does Rule #2 state: CUSTOMER IS ALWAYS RIGHT". She just walked away...I gave the clerk my name and phone number and told him "You get any shit from her...any shit at all over this...you call me, I will have her ass fired." Went back the next day...guess what??? Those boxes I asked for...well...more of them were out on the floor for sale.
