so ive alweys been a huge rah collector and i alweys put it first before i buy 25th fig's but lately ive been wanting to take a break from the rah line and focus more on my 25th line. i would never get rid of my rah stuff but it is more exspensive so my wallet has been hurting lately. im not saying that the 25th stuff is cheap either since we have so much out to collect but does anyone else struggle with this problem? trying to collect both cost so much!

For the ARAh stuff i buy huge lots of "broken" figures. i have purchased 3 lots now for about $100 and have put together about 130 complete figures. Its amazing what people will sell things for if the "O" ring is broken

Yeah, I stuggle.
I gave away my RAH collection in 1988. I had 90% of everything released between 1982-1985 mint and complete. Anyway, once Ebay took off in the late 90's I bought everything back. It cost me an arm and a leg to do so. But like always, money got tight and I sold it all off (besides, I'm very picky and most of the stuff I bought on ebay was not in that great condition.....and people still wanted a small fortune for it) When the 25th hit I was stoked at first, but didn't realize it was going to be so hard to track down. Now with gas at $4 a gallon and the chain stores raising their prices every other month I'm 50/50 on where I stand with keeping it going. It's tough on the wallet to be a Joe fan these days. Just when I think I'm gonna give it up, I find that elusive wave of figures and it sucks me right back in. |

ARAH seems to be WAY cheaper than 25th as of late. It's funny how I will drop 25 bucks on a brand new Conquest or Rattler, but I cringe when I have to spend that much on an ARAH vehicle, but I have been real lucky in that regard. Very few things in my ARAH collection have I spent over 20 bucks for a single item, except for the Defiant and Flagg, which were a whopping 40 bucks apiece. My first love will always be ARAH and 25th is just a nostalgic addition to that collection. Basically, 25th adds to the display of Joes, but is not the center point, ARAH is.

I don't buy rah figs like I used too. Thanksfully I have most of them still in good condition from when I was a kid.
The thing that gets me with the 25th line is finding them. Their there one minute and the next gone for weeks at a time.

My real RAH collecting days died way back when I was 13. I've bought lots of figures since (at one point after the 2005 Convention Set I was obsessed with all things Iron Grenadier) but I was never the completist until the 25th Collection brought me back home. Now I don't even think of the RAH stuff. I'll keep the stuff I had as a kid, but the modern stuff will be sold for new 25th.
